Latour Vincent Bourgogne Blanc 2024 is a beautifully expressive white Burgundy from Domaine Vincent Latour, a historic Meursault estate whose origins date back to 1792. Formerly known as Domaine Latour-Labille, the domaine is today run by Vincent Latour and his wife, Cécile, with a focus on Chardonnay that combines generous texture with freshness, tension and a clear sense of place.
This Bourgogne Blanc is particularly compelling because the fruit comes from several parcels totaling approximately two hectares within the village of Meursault, although the vineyards carry the broader Bourgogne appellation. The vines range considerably in age, with the oldest planted in 1957 and the youngest in 2019.
The grapes are crushed before pressing and the must is settled to remove the major solids. The wine is then matured for approximately 10 to 12 months in a combination of foudres and barrels, with only around 10% new oak. Vincent Latour increasingly favors larger-format vessels, allowing the wine to gain texture and complexity without overwhelming the purity of the fruit.
The 2024 Bourgogne Blanc offers an inviting combination of ripe orchard fruit, fresh citrus, subtle floral notes and fine mineral character. The palate is rounded and gently creamy yet remains energetic and precise, with understated oak, lively acidity and a clean, persistent finish.
With its fruit sourced from Meursault vineyards and its careful élevage, this is far more than a simple entry-level Bourgogne Blanc. It offers a highly accessible introduction to Vincent Latour's style and an excellent opportunity to experience the character of Meursault-grown Chardonnay at a fraction of the price of village-level Meursault.
