Erath Pinot Noir — Oregon 2023
Erath is one of Oregon's founding Pinot Noir estates, established by Dick Erath in the Dundee Hills in 1969 — a pioneer who helped prove that the Willamette Valley could produce world-class Pinot Noir. Now part of the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates family, Erath continues to craft approachable, terroir-driven Oregon Pinot Noir that delivers genuine quality at an everyday price. The Oregon bottling draws from a broad network of cool-climate vineyards across the state, capturing the freshness, bright acidity, and red fruit character that define Oregon Pinot at its most accessible and food-friendly.
Bright cranberry in the glass with flashes of scarlet, the nose is inviting and expressive: black cherry and cola unfold gracefully, complemented by a subtle hint of toasted oak. On the palate, vibrant acidity brings energy and lift to layers of strawberry compote and gentle baking spice. The finish is soft and effortless — a harmonious balance between delicacy and plush, fruit-driven charm.

The warm growing season offers decadent aromas of boysenberry and dark cherry with layers of jasmine and fresh herbs helping to maintain freshness. An Oregon icon, this wine achieves the perfect balance between delicate and playful.
Blend: 97% Pinot Noir, 3% Syrah
Audrey Frick writes: The 2021 Pinot Noir Oregon is composed of 60% fruit from the Willamette Valley, 40% fruit from the Umqua Valley, and a bit from the Rogue Valley. It pours a transparent medium ruby and is forward with somewhat primary and juicy aromas of ripe red berries, crushed flowers, and a hint of forest spice. Easy-drinking and medium-bodied, it lifts cleanly off the palate and is straightforward, with a lot of charm for early drinking. Bottled under screwcap - Jeb Dunnuck
Tim Fish writes: Sleek and fruit-forward, with cherry and dill flavors that finish with snappy tannins. Drink now through 2028. - Wine Spectator
90 Wine & Spirits Magazine:
This is a steal for the way its savor and black cherry collide on the palate. It starts off with an herbal riff on cut-leaf tobacco. The tannins are firm and a touch furry, but the wine’s acid buoy the flavors into a bright burst on the finish.
