Michel Niellon, who began working with his father Marcel in 1957, has crafted more than 50 vintages of extraordinary wines. From the original 4-hectare estate in Chassagne-Montrachet, Michel has built a notable reputation, creating rich, ripe premiers and grand crus white Burgundies as well as a small amount of excellent premier cru red. Today, three generations of the Niellon family currently work at the domaine. With the help of his son-in-law, Michel Coutoux, who joined himin 1991, Niellon has increased the estate's production by buying new vineyards and building a larger winery. His grandson, Matthieu Bresson, also joined the winery, after graduating from La Lycée Viticole in Beune. Each generation contributes their unique knowledge and expertise to create the finest wines.
"A fresh, bright and quite peppery nose is comprised by ripe aromas of mostly various red berries and earth. The delicious lighter weight flavors possess an easy-going mid-palate before concluding in a balanced, mildly rustic and refreshing finish. Allen Meadows - Burghound

"Discreet but perceptible nuances of wood and menthol are present on the ripe and fresh red and dark raspberry, pepper and newly turned earth. The is fine mid-palate density to the utterly delicious middle weight flavors that possess much better than average depth and persistence for such a young Chassagne red. One to strongly consider as this is very good."
