Esprit Leflaive Corton Grand Cru Les Grandes Lolières 2019 is an exceptional red Burgundy from the prestigious Corton Grand Cru appellation in the Côte de Beaune. Produced under the Esprit Leflaive label, this limited-production Pinot Noir combines the richness and concentration of the outstanding 2019 vintage with the elegance, precision, and finesse associated with the Leflaive name.
The wine originates from a small vineyard parcel in Les Grandes Lolières, situated on the slopes of the historic Hill of Corton near Ladoix-Serrigny. Limestone-rich soils and favorable vineyard exposure contribute to the wine's structure, complexity, and distinctive mineral character.
The 2019 vintage reveals an expressive bouquet of ripe black cherries, wild strawberries, blackberries, and delicate floral notes, complemented by hints of sweet spice, forest floor, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet beautifully balanced, offering layers of dark berry fruit, refined tannins, and a silky, polished texture. Fresh acidity provides elegance and definition, while subtle earthy nuances and delicate oak influence add complexity.
Carefully crafted using traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, the wine benefits from thoughtful oak maturation that enhances its structure while preserving the purity of the Pinot Noir fruit.
The finish is long, harmonious, and beautifully persistent, with lingering dark cherry, spice, and mineral notes. A distinguished expression of Corton Grand Cru, this rare red Burgundy offers remarkable depth, refinement, and excellent potential for further development in the cellar.
