Winemaker's Notes
An exquisite expression of classic white Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley Puligny-Montrachet 2024 captures the elegance, purity and mineral precision that have made this celebrated Côte de Beaune appellation one of the world's most sought-after sources of Chardonnay.
Brilliant pale gold in color, this refined wine opens with delicate aromas of white flowers, fresh orchard fruit and subtle vanilla, complemented by enticing hints of roasted hazelnut.
On the palate, a vibrant mineral freshness gives way to generous flavors of white peach, ripe pear and exotic fruits, accented by a delicate touch of salted caramel. Beautifully textured yet remarkably precise, the wine balances gentle richness with refreshing acidity and an elegant, lingering finish.
A sophisticated and harmonious Chardonnay that beautifully expresses the distinctive finesse, depth and mineral character of Puligny-Montrachet.
About the Winery
Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's most respected and historic family-owned wine estates.
Today, seventh-generation Erwan Faiveley oversees the family's vineyards alongside Technical Director and winemaker Jérôme Flous. Together, they combine traditional Burgundian craftsmanship with meticulous vineyard management and modern winemaking precision.
With exceptional holdings throughout the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Faiveley is celebrated for producing wines that express the distinctive character of Burgundy's most prestigious appellations.
The Vineyard & Terroir – Puligny-Montrachet
Located between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet is internationally renowned for producing some of the world's most refined and age-worthy Chardonnay.
The appellation's limestone-rich, stony soils contribute to the wines' signature mineral tension, aromatic complexity and beautifully balanced structure.
Domaine Faiveley takes responsibility for vineyard management and grape quality in the parcels used for this bottling, applying the same exacting standards employed in its estate-owned vineyards.
The resulting Chardonnay reflects the distinctive characteristics of Puligny-Montrachet: delicate floral aromatics, precise acidity, elegant texture and remarkable persistence.
The 2024 Vintage
The 2024 growing season presented Burgundy's growers with significant challenges, including cool weather, persistent rainfall and disease pressure.
Careful vineyard management, rigorous fruit selection and precise harvest decisions were essential to preserving grape quality.
The successful white wines of this vintage emphasize freshness, aromatic elegance and vibrant acidity. Domaine Faiveley's Puligny-Montrachet offers a refined balance of expressive fruit, subtle richness and the lively mineral character associated with this prestigious appellation.
Winemaking & Aging
Following careful harvesting and selection, the Chardonnay is vinified using traditional Burgundian techniques that emphasize aromatic purity and terroir expression.
The wine is matured for approximately 14 months in French oak barrels, with less than one-third new oak. Regular stirring of the lees adds texture, subtle richness and complexity while maintaining freshness and precision.
This restrained approach to oak maturation allows the wine's delicate white-flower aromas, orchard fruit and mineral character to remain beautifully expressive.
Food Pairings
A superb partner for pan-seared scallops, lobster, grilled halibut, Dover sole, roasted chicken, veal in a light cream sauce, mushroom risotto and delicate seafood preparations.
Its vibrant acidity and elegant texture make it particularly appealing with butter-based sauces, shellfish and refined French cuisine.
Suggested Serving Temperature: 50–54°F (10–12°C).
