The Cornu family own one-third hectare averaging 50 years. A firm, structured wine built to last, there is a sense of more earth than fruit; you can feel the grit in the tannins married to notes of truffle and game. Like the champion it is, it has proven that it will go the distance in your cellar.

"While there is visible wood treatment it is much more discreet and already well-integrated into the equally fresh, complex and appealing aromas of plum, cassis and pungent earth. The muscular, concentrated and very serious middle weight plus flavors coat the mouth with dry extract that also helps to buffer the markedly firm tannic spine shaping the rustic, youthfully austere and saline-infused finish. This is textbook Valozières."

"Mid crimson. Sweet and rich in dark fruit on the nose. Then dark and savoury on the palate, almost charry. The complete opposite of sweet but not severe. Firm, dry tannins and absolutely needs food but there’s fruit at the core to soften the severity of the structure. Needs time but it’s all in place.:
