Domaine de la Charbonnière is one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's most respected family estates — a producer known for combining the intensity and depth of Southern Rhône fruit with genuine finesse and elegance across their entire range. The 2024 Côtes du Rhône is crafted from estate-owned Grenache and Syrah planted on the plots of "Husson" and "Saint Martin" in Courthézon, harvested by hand, sorted on the estate by vibrating table, and vinified together with a two-week maceration for structure and fruit depth. Aging in stainless steel vats and barrels preserves the purity and freshness of the fruit. The result is a beautifully balanced, fruit-forward red that overdelivers at its price point — a pleasure wine built to share.
The nose is fresh and expressive: bright red cherry, ripe strawberry, fresh red fruit, and subtle floral lift. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a clean, fruit-driven mouthfeel, gentle tannins, and a pure, lingering finish dominated by the clarity of the fruit. This may be a modest Cotes-du-Rhone, yet it shows its Chateauneuf-du-Pape heritage in the glass with purity, elegance and beautiful expression.
