Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine — Margaux, Bordeaux 2019
Confidences is the second wine of Château Prieuré-Lichine, a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé estate in Margaux with a storied history stretching back to the 17th century. Produced from the estate's younger vines, Confidences is harvested, vinified, and aged with the same meticulous care as the Grand Cru — the difference is in the vine age, not the philosophy. The 2019 vintage is widely regarded as one of Bordeaux's finest in a generation: a warm, dry year that delivered exceptional ripeness, concentration, and structure across the appellation.
The wine pours a deep ruby. The nose is fresh and open-knit — pomegranate, damson plum, cedar, and savory hints that speak directly to Margaux's signature elegance. On the palate, it's a Merlot-dominant blend that favors roundness and a silky, velvety touch, with a fine-grained finish that is both charming and structured. Modern in its fruitiness, classic in its restraint. Drink now through 2026.
