The Tête de Cuvée has been Château de Manissy’s flagship bottling since the estate’s very first vintage in 1915 — and nothing has changed, including the label. Made from a biodynamic blend of Grenache, Clairette, and Cinsault sourced from the Tavel appellation in the southern Rhône, this is a rosé built for the table rather than the pool. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged nine to twelve months in old 25-hectoliter foudres, and bottled with minimal intervention, it is one of the rare rosés with genuine structure and aging potential. The bouquet is beautifully refined: rhubarb, watermelon, blood orange, dried rose petals, gentle savory notes, and a lovely base of soil tones with a touch of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate, the wine is deep, pure, and full-bodied with lovely acids, excellent focus and grip, a succulent core of red currant and cherry, and a long, complex, impeccably balanced finish. Rich and structured — a Tavel that will age impressively and pair with just about anything.
