The Bertrand family has cared for Château Carteau's Saint-Émilion vineyard for five generations. Dating to 1850, the estate now covers 16 hectares on clay-limestone hillside soils south of Saint-Émilion, at the foot of Tertre Daugay. Its 35-year-old vines are grown using sustainable methods and harvested by hand.

Chocolate, cherry and plum lead into concentrated red and black fruit. Full to medium in body, this Grand Cru balances a powerful, long finish with a soft close and freshness.

Winemaker description

Chocolate profile with cherries and plum hints. The wine is large to medium bodied but yet soft at the back end. A grand cru with great concentration and keeping freshness. Matter and elegance.

Complex and concentrated notes of red and black fruits with a long, powerful finish.
