Alamos is the approachable, everyday label from Catena Zapata — Argentina’s most celebrated wine family and the producer widely credited with putting Mendoza Malbec on the world map. While Catena’s flagship wines command serious prices, Alamos was created to deliver the same Andean terroir and winemaking philosophy at an accessible price point. Sourced from high-altitude Mendoza vineyards where the combination of intense sunlight, cool nights, and mineral-rich soils produces Malbec of exceptional depth and character.
The 2024 shows a deep ruby color with violet hues. The nose offers layers of dark cherry, blackberry, violet, and vanilla spice. On the palate, the wine is velvety and expansive, with balanced tannins and a long, smooth, lingering finish — complex and approachable in equal measure.
