Expert Review - Vintage 2023
Wine Spectator 93 Points | Well-sculpted and elegantly dynamic, with lilting raspberry and pomegranate flavors laced with green tea, rose petal and savory spice accents. Ends with fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2033.
Decanter 92 Points | A ripe and black-fruited Pinot Noir from the very warm 2023 vintage in the Willamette Valley. It is a generous wine with lavish aromas of blackberry, damson plums and a hint of roast cinnamon stick. The palate shows polish with an intensity of ripe red and black bramble fruits, spicy cola and clove and a finish of structure framed by black tea.

Choose when time is of the essence
In 2023, budbreak was unusually late, starting on April 30. Next came an unexpected heat surge and minimal rainfall, a lasting pattern which compressed the period from budbreak to bloom to less than 45 days (a record)! Our vineyards adapted well to these surprises, and when harvest started on September, the fruit looked great. Towards the end of the month, we saw some significant rains. The overall harvest concluded on October 5.
"This is complex and layered, with spiced cherries, aged tangerine peel, crushed spices and nutshells. Some licorice notes. Medium- to full-bodied, structured and polished with a firm backbone of very fine tannins and earthy undertones. Lingering finish."
