About El Tesoro
El Tesoro de Don Felipe is produced at the historic La Alteña Distillery in the Jalisco Highlands by the Camarena family, one of Mexico’s most respected tequila dynasties. Unlike most modern producers, El Tesoro still uses a traditional volcanic stone tahona wheel to slowly crush the roasted agave piñas — a labor-intensive process that extracts maximum flavor and complexity from 100% blue Weber agave. The result is a tequila of uncommon character: earthy, textured, and deeply expressive of its terroir.
Tasting Notes
Warm aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, and toasted oak on the nose. The palate is round and approachable with notes of caramel, dried fruit, and gentle spice, finishing long and smooth with a lingering sweetness. A benchmark Highlands Reposado for sipping neat or on the rocks.
Food Pairings & Cocktails
Exceptional neat or on the rocks. Also outstanding in a premium Tommy’s Margarita, Paloma, or alongside grilled meats, dark chocolate, and aged cheeses.
