Choose when time is of the essence
Bellmunt blanc and Bellmunt Negre are the first 'vins de villages' from Mas d'en Gil. In this case, from young vines from the estate's own vineyards, planted between 1996 and 1998.
Vinification
The vineyards are grown organically. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels of the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year.
Trial analysis
Nice expression of Grenache on the nose, accounting for 60% of the blend. Tasty attack with cherries and mineral notes, spiciness, typical of Priorat. Firm fruit in the midriff and long end.
Prior Vintage 2019 |
Luis Gutiérrez writes: The village red 2019 Bellmunt was produced with 65% Garnacha, 30% Cariñena and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and is very expressive, ripe with 14% alcohol and some herbal notes and very good freshness. The palate is medium-bodied and reveals abundant, fine-grained tannins. Very Priorat. - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 92+
Beth Willard, Diana Rollan, David Williams write: Red pepper, red currant with a touch of strawberry and white chocolate. On the palate it’s showing balance and texture, with ripe red fruit with a lovely savoury finish and a lifted acidity. Very enjoyable style. - Decanter 90
