Winemaker Description 

Elk Cove Pinot Gris is hand-harvested from their estate hillside vineyards in the northern Willamette Valley. The 2024 vintage was a winemaker’s dream: well-paced with idyllic conditions for cool climate vineyards. Expect a concentrated, fruit-forward wine with great complexity.

The Willamette Valley has the perfect climate for this delicate cool weather white wine. Elk Cove has enough sunlight and warmth for ripening, but their cool evenings help retain varietal character and prevent over-ripening. They whole-cluster press their Pinot Gris grapes, then ferment the juice at very cool temperatures in small stainless steel tanks. This gentle treatment protects the aromatic qualities and enhances the natural richness of the Pinot Gris grapes, creating their most popular white wine.

The wine's crisp acidity and savory notes make it highly food-friendly, especially with:

• Seafood (grilled fish, oysters, shrimp tacos)

Time has softened the acidity on a supple, savory palate, layering toasted brioche, brine and dried flower petal details. A hint of honey water graces the elegant, well-meshed finish. In the nose, this wine is powerful and complex, It develops smoked and toasted aromas, and more particularly aromas of brioche associated to the notes of honey and vanilla. The mouth is frank, round and rich. This wine is perfectly balanced.

In the glass there is a full color, deep, gold. Has yellow fruit with van toast and amandelen.

A full body followed by a thin length with full height.  A great gastronomic.
