Frog’s Leap 2011 Zinfandel is a dry-farmed, organically grown old-school Napa Valley Zinfandel that reflects the winery’s traditional, balanced approach. It’s primarily Zinfandel blended with Petite Sirah (~14%) and a small amount of Carignane, giving the wine structure and complexity while avoiding overly jammy fruit.

On the nose, the wine presents a sophisticated aromatic profile featuring summer fruit notes like strawberry, raspberry, fig, and huckleberry, while the palate tends to be refined and taut rather than sweet and jammy, sometimes compared to a fine Tuscan style.

This vintage shows balanced acidity and supportive tannins with flavors that may include black plum, spice, and cracked peppercorn, making it classic Napa Zinfandel with an elegant, restrained character rather than a high-alcohol blockbuster.
