James Suckling 93 Points | Excellent Mirabelle plum, bergamot and chamomile tea aromas are married to considerable textural depth on the compact, medium-bodied palate. Stony minerality drives the long finish.

The Wine Spectator 92 Points | Ripe but nervy, with a unique combination of plump peach, apricot and nectarine notes that are carried by a taut and tangy spine of fennel, quinine and ginger. Shows a bitter orange echo on the finish.

The Forge Cellars Riesling "Classique" 2023 is a benchmark dry Riesling from the Finger Lakes (Seneca Lake), New York. This winery is a collaboration between Louis Barruol (of the iconic Château de Saint Cosme in Gigondas, France) and Rick Rainey, aiming to craft "bone dry" Rieslings that rival the grand crus of Alsace and Germany.

The unique traits of Wiemer’s Magdalena Vineyard are featured in this lush Riesling. A beneficial air exchange with Seneca Lake moderates the temperatures, creating a warmer and more protective site in the colder months and a cooling effect throughout the summer. The airflow keeps the vineyard dry, and deep soil provides room for spreading root growth. The lime silt loam soil that the site is celebrated for is crucial to the development of flavor intensity in the grapes. Magdalena wines are striking and powerful, and develop very well over time– whether in the glass or in the cellar.

The Wine Enthusiast by Christina Pickard writes 95 Points | Still a spring chicken, this top Riesling—if drunk now—needs a few good swirls in the glass before releasing delicate orange citrus, jasmine and honeysuckle aromas from the clutch of more reductive ones. There's richness and intensity on the dry, slippery palate, cut with citrusy acidity and a chalk dust minerality to the ultralong finish. This is a wine of complexity and class that should cellar until 2032 or longer.

James Suckling by Andrii Stetsiuk 96 Points |  Joyful and juicy but also concentrated and very precise, this is a stunning cool-climate chardonnay. Brimming with sliced pear, white peach and white flower aromas. The delicate oak is already beautifully integrated on the mouth-filling yet only medium-bodied palate. Then comes a wave of toasted hazelnut flavor in the very long and super-silky finish. Drink from release.

As a Harvard educated Economist, Kelby made the unusual transition to wine in pursue of his passion. He also brought with him his deep love for music as a way to inspire his winemaking approach. Expert Review - Vintage 2020

The Wine Enthusiast by Christina Pickard writes 92 Points | 2020 was a stellar vintage across New York State, despite the challenges of picking in a pandemic year. This charmingly demonstrates Long Island's prowess with Merlot. A fragrant fruit salad perfume of summer berries with subtle purple flower, vanilla and baking spice tucked beneath. It's supple, structured and harmonious, with firm, sappy tannins and a crunch of acidity.  

Winemaker Description

The Grapes of Roth is Winemaker Roman Roth's private label, and a true testament to his classic, yet adventerous, wine-making style. Wonderful dark cherry fruit with well integrated oak, classic graphite and great minerality is complimented by a very savory and elegant finish.

Dark red brick in color. Elegant aromas of cassis and fine toasted sandalwood fill the glass. The mouth-feel is rich and concentrated, yet balanced with wonderful fruit of plumbs, prunes and amazing minerality. The finish has layers of ripe tannins and nicely toasted oak with fine classic earthiness, leather and iodine notes. The fruit and alcohol provide great length and make this a very special Merlot that possesses great aging potential and is the perfect partner with food.

This is a wine to be aged. It has a huge maturation curve ahead and will gain many more nuances and facets. Serve just at room temperature. Pair this Merlot with dishes you might think of for big, bold wines: steak, cassoulet, duck and decadent dark chocolate desserts.

You simply cannot go wrong with a bottle of Grüner Veltliner! It is light and fresh, ridiculously drinkable, and makes for a perfect wine to sip with friends. There is a soft acidity balanced with a hint of white pepper and honeydew. The fresh, bright flavors of pear and lime shine through on the palate complementing the subtle spice. It has a lovely herbaceousness that fits the lightness of this easy, dry white!

The Weis Vineyards Grüner Veltliner 2024 is currently making waves as one of the most celebrated white wines in New York State. Freshly released for the 2026 market, it recently took home the Platinum Medal and was named "Best White Wine" at the 2025 New York Wine Classic.

The 2024 Dr. Konstantin Frank Chardonnay is bright and energetic, showcasing a harmonious balance of fruit and oak influence. On the nose, ripe nectarine and apricot aromas mingle with hints of acacia flowers, offering a fresh and vibrant bouquet. The palate reveals layers of elegance, with undertones of chamomile tea adding complexity and finesse.

A gentle touch of vanilla and sweet spice enhances the wine’s creamy texture, leading to a smooth finish accented by a nuttiness. Refined yet lively, this Chardonnay beautifully captures the Finger Lakes’ cool-climate character.

Pair the 2024 Chardonnay with seafood finished in a light lemon butter sauce or herb-and-citrus glaze, as well as roast chicken or turkey with fresh herbs and a creamy pan sauce.

Its balanced texture and acidity also complement grilled autumn vegetables, nutty cheeses, and Marcona almonds, and it pairs beautifully with both creamy and sharp cheeses. 

Chardonnay was one of the first three varieties planted by Dr. Frank, alongside Riesling and Pinot Noir, in 1958. What makes this wine especially compelling is the old block of Chardonnay from which it is sourced.

Thanks to Dr. Frank’s viticultural expertise and international connections, grape cuttings were sourced from across North America and Europe. Through a relationship in Quebec (and long before modern quarantine regulations), Dr. Frank personally the transported cuttings, leveraging his fluency in French to bring them across the border.

Today, it is widely believed that this vineyard block originates from Burgundy-derived clones, which were propagated in Dr. Frank’s nursery for decades, up until the mid-1990s. Throughout the Finger Lakes, stories still circulate of wineries proudly saying they planted a “Dr. Frank Chardonnay clone” - a testament to the lasting influence of his mark on the region.

For winemaker Sarah, Chardonnay represents both creative freedom and precision.
“It really is a winemaker’s playground. There are so many styles you can push Chardonnay into.” The approach for the 2024 Chardonnay is rooted in balance. Fresh, clean varietal aromatics - citrus, tree fruit, and riper stone fruit - form the foundation, while carefully selected oak adds complementary layers of spice, vanilla, toast, and subtle nuttiness.

Rather than overpowering the fruit, 62% French oak is used as a supporting vessel, enhancing texture and complexity through 9 months of barrel aging with thoughtful lees work.

The Wine Enthusiast by Christina Pickard writes 90 Points | This Long Island Cab Franc is fragrant and fruity with succulent, just-pressed berries vibes, the stems lurking just out of frame, with violets and a whiff of something meatier, more savory. The mid-weight palate delivers an abundance of primary red fruit, riding on almost creamy mouthfeel, with soft ripe tannins and a crunch of well-tucked acidity.

On the palate, it is both vibrant and mineral, delivering profound intensity with a full, textured mouthfeel balanced by bright, clean acidity. The finish is long and refined, echoing with notes of citrus, stone fruit, and a flinty elegance. The Eugenia Dry Riesling reflects both the heritage of the site and the character of the woman it honors.

Presents a deep violet hue, hinting at its intensity and depth. The nose is complex and alluring, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and bramble layered alongside subtle notes of mint, violet, and a touch of cola. Accents of black pepper and cedar from French oak lend warmth and spice.

On the palate, the wine is full bodied with the vibrant acidity and structure that define its cool-climate origins. Plush yet grippy tannins provide firm support, giving way to a long, savory finish that balances dark fruit richness with remarkable freshness.

Our Wölffer No. 139 Ciders evoke the style, sophistication and spirit of summer in the Hamptons. Rosier and slightly sweeter than our white cider due to a dash of organic extract.

Winemaker Notes | Bright shiny rose in color. Fantastic fresh floral notes fill the glass; the Crispin aromas especially stand out with fine hints of yeast. The mouth-feel is pure and clean, with a nice balance of sweet fruit, elegant acidity and fine tannins that provide a long and pleasant finish. There is a nice CO2 mousse, making it very pleasant and playful.

Food Pairing Notes | Best served chilled, this slightly effervescent cider makes an able companion to a wide variety of party and picnic foods—hors d’oeuvres, salads and cheeses—as well as fruit pies and tarts. Pair it with grilled meat (especially pork), seafood or vegetables, too. Or just enjoy it on its own!Other Notes

Winemaker Description 

The 2021 vintage overall was very similar to 2018. July, August, and into September were warm and very humid with significant rain during the fall with some places receiving up to 9” of rain in 24-36 hour periods at several different times over the three months.

Rains and frequent cloud cover during September and October made the season challenging. however, the long fall season gave us bright acidity and a fresh palate. The fruit was hand harvested on October 7, being carefully sorted in the field to only select the most clean fruit. 

Winemaking: The fruit was hand harvested and gently destemmed. After pressing, the juice was cold settled for 48 hours before being racked to a combination of four French oak barrels made by Dargaud Jagle, all medium toast (one new, one once used, one twice used, and one neutral). The juice was inoculated with VIN13 yeast and went through a swift but healthy fermentation followed by full Malolactic fermentation.  

The wine aged sur lie for 11 months being stirred biweekly by rolling the barrels with special racks meant to agitate the lees without introducing oxygen. After racking, it was gently fined with a small amount of bentonite prior to bottling. It bottled in November and was aged in bottle for 9 months prior to release in August 2022.

Winemaker Description 

The 2023 vintage overall was a classic vintage for the Finger Lakes. Budbreak was early and a hard freeze on May 13th threatened many vineyards.  June and July were very wet with frequent rains and high disease pressure.  Finally, mid-August the region saw some sun although rains continued at regular intervals.  The long fall season dried out a bit to make the vintage a very classic style with bright acidity and cool climate fruit flavors. It also allowed us to fully ripen the Cabernet Franc that makes up most of this blend in this fresh style of Rose.

Winemaking: To produce our Rose, we used Cabernet Franc which was pressed quickly to ensure a delicate rose color and minimal skin tannins. We allowed the pressed juice to sit on gross lees for several days before racking to enhance the body and texture of the final wine. Then a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel maximized the intense aromas and flavors. For the final blend we added a small amount of our Chardonnay fermented in a neutral French Oak barrel to lengthen the finish and solidify the acid backbone of the wine. 

Expert Review - Vintage 2023

James Suckling 95 Points | A very pretty red with blackberry, black-cherry, flint and crushed-stone aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with a firm, focused tannin structure under the poised fruit. Long and caressing. Complex and crunchy. Drink or hold.

The Wine Advocate 91 Points | The 2023 Cabernet Franc Magdalena Vineyard boasts slightly darker-hued fruit than the regular bottling, with the aromas tending toward black raspberries and black cherries. At the same time, it's perhaps a bit less leafy but still reasonably floral. In the mouth, the wine is medium- to full-bodied and silky-textured, with soft tannins that linger on the finish.

Winemaker Description 

Our single-vineyard iteration of our pillar red variety, Cabernet Franc, with more weight and structure than our traditional version. This fruit hails from a two-and-a-half-acre block within our Magdalena Vineyard- a warmer site which produces fruit that is amongst our ripest picks in each vintage. This additional development yields bold tannins up front which advance into red fruit transitioning to purple; black cherries, red plums, holiday seasoned cranberries. Texture, depth, and freshness are found in green flavors and garden soil earthiness, thanks to the rain of the earlier part of the '23 vintage. A drier and hotter fall is to thank for the counterbalancing fruit and composition.

Upon release, this Cab Franc has youthful muscularity to it, and has been destined to cellar beautifully. Drink now through 2038.

The 2023 vintage is a significant release, as it was recently highlighted by James Suckling as one of the top-scoring New York reds ever tasted.

A perfect rendition of Finger Lakes Cabernet Franc, aged for a year in our 6-year-old, 2000 liter Austrian and Hungarian Oak casks.

Hosmer Estate Red is a blend of Vinifera and French-American hybrid grape varieties including DeChaunac, Cabernet Franc, and a touch of Chardonnay to soften the mouth feel. The grapes come from Ravines two estate vineyards on Seneca Lake, the 16 Falls Vineyard (east side) and White Springs Vineyard (west side).
