Tequila Fortaleza is a small-batch, handcrafted tequila. It is made today with the same production methods that our family used to make tequila, over one hundred and forty years ago! Fortaleza Añejo is aged for 18 months is used American Whiskey barrels. The extra time spent aging in these barrels impart deeper, richer, and warmer tones than our reposado. 

Common aromas and flavors found in our añejo are: Cooked Agave, Sweet Butter, Butterscotch, Caramel, Vanilla, Citrus, Dried Fruit, Tropical Fruit, Cinnamon, White Pepper, Cloves, Nuts, and Dry Earth. All of our tequilas are deliciously wonderful and complex, and can be enjoyed neat, or in a cocktail!

Clase Azul Tequila Gold is an incomparable tequila joven, a blend that combines Clase Azul Tequila Plata with a special reposado tequila matured in French oak casks and an eight-year-old Extra Añejo aged in American whiskey casks and finished in sherry casks.

This limited reposado arrives in a striking Calavera (skull) bottle and balances agave brightness with light oak aging. Expect gentle vanilla and honey alongside roasted agave, toasted nuts and a touch of cinnamon — more complexity than a blanco, but not as heavy as an añejo. The bottle’s design makes it a standout on any bar cart.

It is also a way for us to thank all the people who have been part of this journey: the talented artisans, all those who are part of the Clase Azul family, and, of course, everyone who has brought a small piece of our Exquisite Mexico into their homes.

To celebrate our legacy, we’ve created our first decanter completely painted in our distinctive cobalt blue color. Inspired by dandelion seeds being carried by the wind, its feathered motifs embody Clase Azul México's expansion across the world. Twenty-five of the brushstrokes that grace the surface of the decanter have been hand painted in platinum; one for each year of our history.

The tequila created for this edition pays homage to our signature Clase Azul Tequila Reposado. Our Master Distiller, Viridiana Tinoco, reimagined its creation to give it a special touch.

Part of the agave used to make this blend was milled using a traditional stone mill called a tahona, a practice that dates back to the origins of tequila.

In addition, the fermentation process was extended to accentuate the liquid’s citrus and fruity notes. This blend was aged for eight months in two different first-use American whiskey casks, each one imparting its own distinct and rich tasting notes.
