The Wine Advocate 91 Points | The 2021 Don Nicanor Malbec was produced with grapes from Valle de Uco and Luján de Cuyo in similar proportion, fermented with selected yeasts and with 60% of the wine matured in oak barrels for 12 months. It has contained ripeness at 14.5% alcohol and is juicy and peachy, with black fruit (cassis, blackberry) and herbs. It is more serious, perhaps with a more reductive personality, with good concentration, tension and balance. Modern, very good value and a traditional name.

James Suckling 91 Points | Pretty nose of potpourri, lavender, cherries, purple plums and spice box. It’s full-bodied and creamy with a firm tannin frame. Nicely spiced. Better after 2024.

Winemaker Description 

The wine is an intense violet color. The nose has aromas of red fruits and blackberries. There are floral notes such as violets, and spices. The oak is well-integrated and contributes soft notes of bitter chocolate. The palate is fresh and elegant, with velvety tannins and a long-lasting finish.

Winemaker Description 

A deep red, nearly purple color, with aromatics of concentrated black fruits, cigar box and notes of barrel toast. Dark fruit, spice and rich flavors continue on the palate. Quite brooding, but pure and focused. The tannins are super integrated and soft, but with terrific balance and finish that gives it unusual length in the palate.

All the fermentations were done in concrete tanks with native yeast, minimal punch downs and 2+ weeks on the skins post fermentation.

Appealing ruby-red wine with a fruity aroma and notes of chocolate, red plums and vanilla. The soft tannins of this Cabernet Sauvignon will capture your attention. 

Ideal to serve with red meat, cheese, spicy casseroles and pasta.

This Malbec Superior is the very essence of Paraje Altamira wines. With a bright, energetic acidity and delicate minerality, it offers notes of black berries, subtle spicy accents typical of contact with oak and a silky and expressive finish.

Joaquin Hidalgo writes:  The 2021 Nicolò Brunetto is a blend of 80% Sangiovese co-fermented with equal portions of Syrah and Merlot from the Uco Valley. Aged for 12 months in French barrels (one-fifth new), it's garnet-red with a cherry sheen. The nose offers faint oaky notes, mushrooms and undergrowth against a sour cherry backdrop. Tart and dry in the mouth, it establishes a delicate tension between the reactive tannins and high acidity, resulting in a layered palate in which the oak plays a supporting role. This is a long-lasting red wine that pays homage to Tuscany.  Drinking 2023 to 2033.  Vinous 93

James Suckling writes:  A fragrant nose with wild berries, currants, dried herbs, potpourri and nutmeg. It’s medium-bodied with finely grained tannins. Aaron Romano writes:  Compact and built on structure and acidity, this could benefit from time to develop. Still, the potential is there, and there's a measure of elegance underneath the muscle. With subtle dried floral and mushroom tones to the tart cherry core, this offers baking spice details that dance in. Plenty of fresh thyme and mineral notes fill out the finish. Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot. Best from 2026 through 2038.  - Wine Spectator 92

This pure and fresh Malbec from Tupungato in Argentina’s Uco Valley offers shimmering red and black fruit — cherries, strawberries, and plums — backed by sweet herbs and a delicate spice. Made from organic fruit by winemakers and childhood friends Norberto Páez and Sebastián Bisole, using 30% whole custer fermentation and indigenous yeasts, it’s a great partner for everything from carne asada to barbecue, including potato salad!

Winemaker Description

A vibrant bouquet of fresh red and  black fruits with floral notes and a hint  of pepper. It is medium-bodied, has a  moderate amount of gentle yet grippy  tannins and refreshing acidity. 

Color: Intense cherry red with violet hues.

Nose: Fresh red fruit like strawberry and plum appear in the beginning. After this, some typical spicy notes of the Mendoza First Zone appear as well as some flowers from the Uco Valley. The wood ageing grants some notes of vanilla and caramel.

Mouth: Consistent wine in the entrance. In the middle mouth some sweet tannins appear that join the fresh fruit granting a soft and delicate volume with a balanced acidity and a medium persistency.

James Suckling 93 Points | Blueberries and bramble berries with hints of bark and earth that follow through to a medium body with juiciness and savoriness. Shows real malbec character. Some sour berry undertones. Drink now. Wine Spectator 91 Points| Notes of hibiscus and orange blossoms join the fresh core of this fragrant version, which is silky in feel, delivering a pure beam of raspberry and cherry flavors. The finish is satisfyingly juicy, with baking spice accents around soft tannins. Drink now.

Winemaker Description 

Bright red color with purple shades. Intense floral and fruity notes on the nose with the presence of violets, ripe black cherry and plum aromas. This wine reveals a toasty and spicy character of black pepper and chocolate. Its sweet and juicy mouthfeel delivers finesse, delicate tannins and an elegant finish of black fruits.

The Wine Advocate 91 Points The juicy and young 2021 Catena Malbec has a nice combination of spice, berry and herbs to make it balanced, expressive and attractive. It's round, velvety and nicely crafted in an easy to understand and highly drinkable style and a commercial profile. A champion in drinkability.

James Suckling 91 Points | Aromas of plums, dark cherries, blueberries, tar and crushed stones. It’s medium-bodied with round, velvety tannins. Dark-fruited and smooth.

Jesica Vargas of the Wine Enthusiast writes 87 Points | This easy-drinking Malbec delivers plenty of plums and blackberries, with light notes of peppercorn and herbs. Moderate acidity helps freshen the slightly warm finish.

The nose is defined by fresh and fruity aromas of ripe plums and blackberries. Its tannins are soft and round, with balanced acidity and red fruit notes. The finish is delicate and harmonious.
