From the Wagner family of wines, Conundrum Red takes a flexible approach to blending California's dark red varieties, including Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The family's blending tradition grew from Charlie Wagner Sr.'s habit of mixing wines at the dinner table to find the right match for a meal. Charlie Wagner now leads Conundrum, carrying that exploratory spirit into the red blend.

The existing producer notes describe lavish fruit, baking chocolate and smooth tannins. A slight chill can bring the fruit forward, making this an easy bottle to open for a relaxed dinner or a cookout.

Wine & Spirits Magazine 96 Points | The 2019 vintage might be something of an outlier for Cathy Corison, who picked two weeks later than usual, taking advantage of the cool season from summer into fall. This wine is, in fact, an idealized version of her benchland cabernet sauvignon, holding on to the elegance she regularly achieves, while adding a luscious textural beauty that more often comes from bottle age. James Conley of NYC’s Keen’s Chophouse found the aroma suggested a more delicate wine than the density and extract this one carries in its “cabernet grape tannins and intriguing, lifted fruit. If someone said, ‘I love Napa, but show me what I’m missing.’ I’d say, ‘Well, try this.’” Warm and explosive in its energy, this wine carries an imprint of the benchland soils in the play of darkness and light, in the detailed tannins that make you crave another taste. 98 Points Jeb Dunnuck | The 2020 Cornas Reynard will most likely merit a perfect rating in a decade, and it's a legendary Cornas in the making. Saturated purple-hued, with incredible aromatics of cassis, liquid violets, new leather, and bloody, iron, meaty nuances, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, building tannins, and flawless overall balance. It has an inward, massive, backward style (it reminds me slightly of the 2010) and tastes like the blood of Cornas. It will need 7-8 years (a decade will be better) to hit the early stages of its prime drinking wine and will absolutely blow you away over the following two decades. (2020).

The Lenore Syrah is aromatic with rich, sweet berry notes of blueberry, boysenberry, red currant and plum. The mouthwatering acidity is nicely balanced with firm tannins and layers of bright bramble fruit. As this wine coats the palate, underlying hints of vanilla bean, peppercorn and sweet tobacco shine through. A robust finish includes chocolate and raspberry.

COS Metodo Classico Zero Dosaggio · Frappato · 2022

Founded in 1980 by Giambattista Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti and Cirino Strano, COS takes its name from the founders’ initials. For this sparkling Frappato, the importer describes estate vineyards in Sicily’s Vittoria region at 230 meters, with red soils containing limestone and silica. The grapes are hand-harvested slightly underripe from vines averaging 25 years of age.

Pale copper color and a fresh, brisk profile with melon pith and dried flowers. The base wine ferments with indigenous yeast in cement tanks, ages there for twelve months, and spends 22 months on the lees before disgorgement. Serve chilled as an aperitif or try it alongside seafood and lightly fried appetizers.

The producer describes vineyards at 600 meters above sea level within a Natural Park, with Sauvignon Blanc lending freshness to the blend. Its name pays tribute to the biodynamic viticulture practiced in the vineyards since 2012.

Flowers, white fruit and green apple lead the aromatic profile, with citrus and mineral accents. The palate combines green apple and white flowers with a dry, crisp texture, finishing with grapefruit and chamomile. Serve it with fresh salads, rice dishes, white fish, sushi or soft cheeses.

Within the vineyards located on our Les Valls-Les Torres estate, at an altitude of 600m above sea level and within a Natural Park, grow grapes of the native xarel-lo variety, the flagship variety of the Penedès. With these grapes we make the organic white wine Cosmic. Our freshest and most perfumed xarel-lo thanks to its coupage of the Sauvignon blanc variety, which gives it freshness, creating a perfect balance between the two varieties.

The name of this wine, Cosmic, is a tribute to the biodynamic viticulture that we have been practising in our vineyards since 2012, an agriculture based on a holistic, systemic and pure vision of agriculture in which, among other influences, the moon, stars and planets are taken into account.

Tim Atkin 97 Points | Picked early because of the pandemic, but not showing any less concentration as a result, this is one of Chile’s finest Bordeaux blends, made with an 80/20 blend of old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Macul estate in Satiago. Concentrated yet not overbearing, it has damson, cassis and potpourri flavours and a frame of toast and vanilla spicy oak. Built to last.

The wine is rich in mineral and citrus flavors and reminds us of what great white Burgundy tastes like!

The high-altitude, north-facing Scopus Vineyard harnesses a blend of lush California flavor tempered with cool-climate structure hanging on firm acidity and moderate body. Stone fruit, citrus and spice come to mind on the palate, all marked by the vineyard’s classic mineral core. There’s a modest hint of toasty oak framing the ensemble, which ends long and fresh.

93 points Wine & Spirits | 2022 marks the fourteenth vintage for Covenant® Chardonnay Lavan®. The wine is made from grapes grown in a small vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. Jeff began working with this vineyard -- called Scopus -- back in 2010, when he made some Chardonnay for the vineyard's owners. He liked the wine so much, that he decided to make Scopus Vineyard the core of our Lavan® program the next year.

Craggy Range | Sauvignon Blanc | Te Muna Road Vineyard | Martinborough | 2025

Most New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc comes from Marlborough — high-acid, pungent, and immediately recognizable. Te Muna Road is something different. Craggy Range’s single-vineyard site sits in Martinborough, on the southern tip of the North Island, where a cooler, more continental climate and river-stone soils produce a Sauvignon Blanc of genuine texture and mineral complexity. Wine Spectator awarded it 93 points.

The nose opens with white flowers, blossom, freshly cut peach, and passionfruit — aromatic and expressive without being aggressive. On the palate, key lime, preserved lemon, and kiwifruit are bright and precise, threaded through with a saline minerality that the river stones of Te Muna Road impart in a way no winemaking technique can replicate. Fresh, elegant, and textural, with a mouthwatering frame and a long, clean finish.

Craigellachie 17 year old shows an evolution of the distillery style, the tropical fruit flavours are developing more exotic characters and there is an underlying sweetness as some cask development begins to show. This is a really special whisky and fun to explore, thinking about where the different flavours are coming from.

Tasting Notes by Advocacy Host Craig: Craigellachie is often referred to as 'The Bad Boy of Speyside,’ and after tasting the 17 it’s not hard to see why. Thanks to the use of traditional worm tub condensers, they produce a heavier and ‘meatier’ style of whisky.
Starting with a combination of sweet vanilla and caramelized apple, the 17 explodes with flavour when a drop of water is added, bursting forth with pineapple, citrus and lightly charred oak. It has a long finish that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Craigellachie was built in 1891 by the experienced whisky team of Peter Mackie and Alexander Edward. They needed a Single Malt as an ingredient for White Horse Blended Scotch, so the distillery was designed to produce a very specific distillery style which the team replicate to this day.

Craigellachie features some very specific production techniques: barley from an oil fired kiln giving more weight, short stills and worm tub condensers to minimise copper contact. The team do 21 mashes per week, have 8 wash backs and 4 copper pot stills.
People always talk about 'sulphur' flavours, which can be distracting. Craigellachie has a roasted brimstone character alongside a meaty quality. Way back in the 1890s Alfred Barnard described ""the chief characteristic of the Craigellachie brand is the pineapple flavour it develops with age"". This tropical fruit style is what makes the brimstone and meat flavours work, achieving a balance that gets beautifully complex in older age statements.

Decanter 93 Points: The 30th Anniversary bottling of Mt. Jeff, with fruit from four of the five Cristom estate vineyards. Pure Willamette character on the nose — forest floor, tart cranberries, and mint leaves balanced by a kiss of sea salt. The palate is a mélange of juicy red berries, salty mineral glimpses, and savoury amaro herbals. A classic, after all these years.

Wine Advocate 90–92 Points: Slowly opening aromas of blackberry and black cherry, earth and violets. The medium-bodied palate matches concentrated, floral fruit with well-integrated oak spice, framed by silky tannins and fresh acidity. A nuanced finish.

Cristom Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2024 750ml

Cristom’s flagship Pinot Noir — known colloquially as “Mt. Jeff” — embodies the hallmark Cristom style, marrying whole-cluster and native yeast fermentations. With the 2024 vintage, this iconic wine debuts for the first time as a fully Estate Pinot Noir, comprised of fruit from the Paul Gerrie, Eileen, Louise, and Jessie Vineyards, marking its 30th Anniversary.

Mt. Jeff captures the diversity of volcanic soils, elevations, and aspects that define Cristom’s Eola-Amity Hills hillside. Coastal winds funneled through the Van Duzer Corridor further shape its structure and complexity. The 2024 opens with pronounced floral aromas of roses and lavender combined with blue fruit and plum, accented by subtle earth. The palate is well-balanced with fresh acidity, tart cherry, and raspberry — a benchmark classic Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and an exceptional value.
