Vibrant and silky, this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir opens with cranberry, pomegranate and tart cherry, accented by mineral notes, clove and anise. Red and blue berries unfold across the palate, with brisk acidity and fine tannins carrying the wine into a lingering finish.
The winery's inaugural Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir draws fruit from Gap's Crown, Lancel Creek, Terra de Promissio and Durell. Cooling coastal winds and a long, cool 2023 season helped shape the fruit's concentration and freshness. Hand-harvested grapes were sorted and largely destemmed, with a small whole-cluster portion. After a five-day cold soak, the wine underwent extended maceration and aged ten months in French oak, 35% new.
Expert reviews
Wine Enthusiast, 91 Points · vintage not stated in existing review — Aromas of cranberry, raspberry and pine forest dominate the nose of this Pinot. The palate brings richly structured tannin and flavors of plum, orange peel, anise and black tea with a rich, opulent mouthfeel. This is great Pinot for burgers or ribs on the grill. - Tom R. Capo
Jeb Dunnuck, 91 Points · 2023 vintage — The 2023 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast pours a bright ruby red color and is lifted and bright on the nose with aromas of blood orange zest, cranberries, cinnamon, and brambly herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, with a floating feel, even tannins, and a gently tapering finish. It’s a savory and elegant wine to drink over the coming 6-7 years.
Wine Spectator, 91 Points · vintage not stated in existing review — Punchy and fresh, with delicious morello cherry and raspberry notes followed by hibiscus and rose petal details that give this lift on the finish.

“Produced at the winery’s ridgeline, at approximately 900 feet. The bottom of the label represents the ridgeline. The vineyard is approximately 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean. High winds have caused the grapes to develop thicker skins, resulting in a pronounced savory character.”
