Expert Reviews - Vintage 2024
Wine Spectator MaryAnn Worobiec 93 Points | Offers a stunning, intense and energetic mix of ripe peach, Meyer lemon, Key lime and fresh Honeycrisp apple notes, with accents of litsea oil, toasted green tea and Himalayan sea salt on the finish. A touch of lemon balm lingers.
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | The 2024 Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc leads with a lean, complex nose that is layered with preserved citrus, paw paw, stewed apple and white pineapple. The wine has excellent texture on the palate; the phenolic grip here presents an extra dimension of interest and chew, further cementing the appreciation of the wine. This is very good, classy. 13% alcohol.
James Suckling 92 Points | Citrus-driven aromas with undertones of white pepper, jalapeno, lime leaf, crushed stones and flint. The palate is light-bodied, with a bright line of acidity and a tightly wound mouthfeel, finishing with a mineral edge. Nicely constructed, with a good core of fruit.
Winemaker Description

This wine will pair well with aperitifs, seafood and poultry.

MaryAnn Worobiec writes: Fresh and precise, with lime, mango and passion fruit notes that are accented by crunchy sea salt, litsea oil, dried chamomile and fresh lemon zest on a mouthwatering, fleshy frame. - Wine Spectator 94
James Suckling writes: Flowery with aniseed and licorice. Some subtle lemons. Medium to light body, dry, lovely fruit and a subtle and fine finish. Well done for the vintage. Drink now. - James Suckling 91
Amy Wislocki writes: Family-owned winery Craggy Range has an excellent reputation, and its entry-level Sauvignon Blanc shows a lovely purity and balance. The Martinborough region, at the southern tip of New Zealand's North Island, is a minor player size wise compared to the juggernaut that is Marlborough, but its wines are often more restrained in style. This elegant expression shows a lovely purity of gooseberry, blackcurrant leaf and lime fruit, with added weight from partial, short ageing in French oak. - Decanter 90
Rebecca Gibb MW writes: The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Te Muna Road probably won't be one for the history books. Modest in concentration and a little fleeting after what was a difficult season, it’s nonetheless attractive, clean and restrained. The 2023 is a less fragrant expression, with modest intensity of apple and pineapple, peach and citrus. Enjoy its dry, acid-driven tension in youth. - Vinous
