Each selection is Oscar’s personal search for wines that over-deliver on quality relative to price — bottles he would pour at his own table. This Rioja Tempranillo is a direct expression of that philosophy: a classic, food-friendly red from one of Spain’s most celebrated appellations at an everyday price.
Sourced from Rioja Alavesa — the northernmost and most elevated sub-zone of the DOCa Rioja, situated in the Basque Country — this 100% Tempranillo benefits from limestone-clay soils and a cooler, Atlantic-influenced climate that produces wines with brighter acidity, more aromatic lift, and greater elegance than those from the warmer Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja. Widely regarded as Rioja’s most terroir-expressive zone.
The 2021 delivers exactly what great everyday Rioja should: red berries, plums, and vanilla on the nose, a medium-bodied palate with good consistency and structure, and a very pleasant, clean finish.
