The Maçanita winery is located on the right bank of the River Douro, in the heart of the Douro, 20 minutes from Pinhão in the Cima Corgo sub-region. A boutique winery, it produces around 80,000 bottles a year of red, white and rosé wines. More recently it has embarked on the world of Port wine production, which, for the time being, is a closely guarded secret. At the Maçanita Vinhos winery, winemaking is less invasive and the aim is to bring the terroir of the Douro to the bottle. With a very diverse range of wines, the Maçanita winery produces everything from single varietals, such as 100% Touriga Nacional Cima Corgo and 100% Touriga Nacional Letra A, two wines, the same grape variety at different altitudes, to the discolored wines of the multi-castes found in the old high altitude granite vineyards, to the fine oxidative Malvasia from the low corgo and the 100% Arinto de extreme with its pulsating acidity. Each of these wines is the result of a restless exploration by the Maçanita brothers, who, plot by plot, try to express a distinct language and personality from every corner of the Douro region.
