A powerful and well built wine, a deep ruby colour with violet tints. Complex nose of vanilla, fruits and griotte-cherries.

The attack is rich and firm; the mouth expresses long lasting nuances of vanilla and pepper. This is a smooth and rich wine with a very good length.

Sea Sun Pinot Noir has aromas of cherry, light toasted wood, dry earth, clove and a hint of s'mores. The flavors echo the cherry on the nose, with raspberry on the finish. Bright and fruit-driven, with lush cherries and a strikingly soft texture.

Neal Martin writes: This delightful 2016 Rully Les Margotes 1er Cru will provide ample drinking pleasure over the next decade. Bright scents of Conference pear and Granny Smith apple on the nose seem to gain intensity with aeration; then, the palate is well balanced with nicely judged acidity. I admire the harmony and precision of this Rully, with just a kiss of lemongrass on the finish. Recommended. Tasted over lunch at Corney & Barrow in London. - Drinking 2022 -2028 - Vinous 90

Expert Review - Vintage 2021 

James Suckling 92 Points | A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec, 8% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, Girard's 2021 Artistry Red Wine constitutes a solid value in the realm of Napa Valley. There's an attractive mix of cherries and black cherries on the nose, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate and the tannins are supple, making the wine easy to drink already. There's plenty of fruit character, some loam-like earthy scents and decent length, framed by soft, dusty tannins.

Wine Spectator, 93 Points | Attractive nose with wild berries, currants, mulberries, dried herbs and hints of tar. It’s medium- to full-bodied with chewy tannins. Textural with a rich core of creamy blackberries and some chocolate flakes, too. Focused finish with excellent length.

The 2021 Artistry is a complex and sophisticated wine. The nose reveals aromas of cassis, black cherry swirling with aromas of vanilla, espresso and tobacco. The palate is rich and full-bodied with flavors of ripe, lush black fruits, hints of chocolate and savory spice. Firm and refined tannins framed by well-integrated oak provide structure and balance leading to a lingering finish.

Bottled at 100 proof and aged at least 4 years, this bourbon is smooth and warm with notes of caramel, vanilla, oak, and citrus.

It has won the coveted Double Gold Medal at the 2021 edition of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Materia Prima Orange is a pale amber, slightly cloudy orange wine produced entirely from biodynamically grown Xarel-lo and Sauvignon Blanc. It's simple to drink but full of incredible skill.

On the nose, it has citrus peel, tropical fruit, and compote, and on the palate, it has a fine structure with pleasant density and tannins. The finish is long and complex, making this a must-try for anyone who enjoys Orange Wines.

Rand Sieger 67Wine.com | The wine opens with beautiful aromas of lavender, clove and sweet pipe tobacco. The flavors are a bold, complex mix of blueberry, cola, chocolate, anise and fig. The texture is thick with a nice grip of tannins up front that mellow to a silky smoothness in the finish.

Matchbook Estate Bottled Petit Verdot showcases the advantage of the Dunnigan Hills appellation's long growing season: the varietal characteristics of deep, rich flavors develop fully when allowed to slowly ripen well into the fall. The long, giving aromas of plum, prune, blueberry and vanilla show up in the mouth-filling flavors. An earthy note of tobacco mixed with flavors of mocha, cream cola and rhubarb adds complexity. The lingering, dusty finish hangs on the palate. Pair this hearty red with aged cheese, lamb shank or roasted pork loin.

Wine Enthusiast 94 Points | The name of this whisky is a nod to how it s matured in three different casks: American Bourbon, Spanish oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry. It s robust, with a deep amber hue and rich caramel scent. The flavor profile shows toffee, campfire smoke and a mouthwatering butterscotch note on the exhale. It almost reads like a peated Bourbon.

We rescued the stock from misuse as a blending whiskey, aged it in new American Oak with a bourbon barrel finish, then hand-bottled this rye on its own. In 2010, WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey was released to great critical acclaim. Though the whiskey is new, the WhistlePig farm has a long history. Revolutionary War veterans cleared much of the surrounding forest to settle and farm following the war. The land was nearly continuously in cultivation until a dairy farm shuttered its windows in the early 2000s. Sourced from cool climate vineyards along the Sonoma Coast, which saw a relatively even growing season, the 2020 Crossbarn Pinot Noir shows deep ruby in the glass with inviting aromas of pomegranate, black cherry, and bay leaf with a touch of violet. On the palate, juicy notes of fresh raspberry compote mingle with tart cranberry and a touch of forest floor, with a hint of salinity that speaks to its coastal origins complementing a lifting acidity and refreshing finish.

Jeb Dunnuck 90 Points | The 2020 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is flush with pristine fruit on the nose, including cherry candy, crushed flowers, and forest floor. The palate is fresh with red raspberry and cinnamon, and it has refreshing acidity on the finish. This is a lovely, classic wine for drinking over the next couple of years. (2020).

Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points | This is one of the great vintages for this cuvée and would be a wine for lovers of Bordeaux. The 2021 Le Serre Nuove Dell'Ornellaia sports a saturated red hue and opens to a great layered and harmonious nose, with aromas of kirsch, leather, fresh Mediterranean herbs, and crushed flowers that all resonate together with wonderful purity and depth. It’s open and generous on the palate, with refined, polished tannins, outstanding length, and refreshing acidity that’s seamlessly woven into the wine. Boy, is this hard to resist now and is a truly stunning wine from recently departed winemaker Olga Fusari. Bravo. Stash as much of this as you can away – it’s one for the ages. A great feather in the cap for Axel Heinz as well, it can only increase anticipation of the house’s top label for next year. Bravo tutti. (2021). 

Wine Enthusiast 95 Points | On the nose, hot, meaty, umami aromas hold court, but dark fruit and a sanguine, tangy metallic component prevent those notes of smoke, pepper and tar from becoming overpowering. Undertones of vanilla and chocolate lift the fruit on the palate, but unyielding tannins and energetic acid ensure the spicy earthiness endures. (2021).

James Suckling 94 Points | A firm and linear red with currant, berry, chocolate and cedar character. It’s medium- to full-bodied. Fine tannins that run the length of the wine. It’s tight and focused. Energetic and bright. 50% merlot and 28% cabernet sauvignon and the rest split equally between petit verdot and cabernet franc. Better after 2026. (2021).

Wine Spectator 93 Points | A polished red, complex and perfumed, featuring black currant, blackberry, plum, violet and iron aromas and flavors. Builds nicely, showing off its poise and releasing the dense tannins at the end. This should evolve well. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2025 through 2040. 3,252 cases imported. (2021). 

Robert Parker 93 Points | The 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is a nicely extracted and rich blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This vintage is very generous, even opulent, with dark fruit that is framed by exotic spice, baking chocolate and softly toasted tones from French oak. The wine ends on a creamy note with vanilla and cinnamon. The oak needs a few more years to integrate. (2021).

7 Deadly Zins Old Vine Zinfandel is full-bodied and seductive. Heaps of jammy berry fruit are followed by aromas of leather, oak and spice notes. On the palate the wine is round and layered showing flavors of dark fruits, currants and toffee through a lingering spice-touched finish.

Extra Dry vermouth was launched, with great international success, on New Year's Day in 1900. The Company had been experimenting with the production of dry vermouth since 1890 in some foreign countries, such as Cuba, in order to compete with the French "sec" vermouth. 

A straw colored vermouth with a sharper perfume, it reveals raspberry, lemon and the subtler hints of iris. This aromatic wine is dry without being bitter, with a white wine base it allows the aromas to come alive in the glass.

The medium-full bodied Smirnoff Vodka is reminiscent of lemon, white pepper, charcoal; full, bold texture; smoky sensation is followed by a burst of rich flavor.

Wine Enthusiast 88 points The aroma is nearly neutral, with a mild sweetness that s echoed on the palate, where it suggests light almond and coconut tones layered with a faint charcoal note. Finishes with a fiery burst of cayenne and cinnamon heat.

Sterling Heritage Collection Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is full and rich with a ruby red-garnet color, accompanied by fragrant aromas and bright flavors of red currant, black raspberry, dark cherry, cassis, and red berry compote. Delicate violet notes interweave with nuances of vanilla crème and caramel from the well-integrated oak aging.

Master of Malt writes:  This was first created over a century ago by the Dewars master blender. White Label contains around 40 different whiskies in the blend, with Aberfeldy at its heart.

Nose:  Honey, peach, apple and wood.  Cut hay.

Palate:  Medium, vanilla fudge, smoke, toffee, heather honey, oak.

Finish:  Good length, cut herbs, honeyed sweetness.

This fun Spanish wine project is the brainchild of four friends who share a similar philosophy on viticulture and winemaking. This affordable 'Tinto' hails from the Sierra de Gredos region of Spain and is dominated by Grenache. 

About 50% of whole bunches are used, which add texture and weight to this easy-drinking wine. Notes of red fruit, pepper, and earth make this wine perfect for sipping chilled alongside charcuterie boards.

Heavier and weightier with a marked presence, featuring intense notes of pear, tree fruits, vanilla, and to a lesser degree of nutmeg, cinnamon, and oak.

Lovely warm almost enrobing mouthfeel to it, it is heavy, silky, and weighty like on the tongue. All the elements of a good mixing cognac or a casual sipper.

James Suckling 93 Points | Bright and vivid pinot with notes of cherries, raspberries, dried hibiscus and potpourri. Medium-bodied, juicy and fresh, with fine tannins and delicious red fruit character. Chalk and minerals in the finish.

Wine Spectator 92 Points | Broad-shouldered in structure, with lilting raspberry and cherry flavors that take on black tea and dusky spice notes as this builds tension toward medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032.

Wine Enthusiast 91 Points | A bright red cherry fruit note is nice but mix in the scent of bone marrow spread on toast points and you have yourself an aromatic party. Nice acidity helps to create a lively mouthfeel to accompany perky orange zest and pie cherry flavors. There is even a touch of bacon hovering on the perimeter. Hungry yet?

Purple Hands Lone Oak Ranch is a classic example of an elegant and balanced Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Featuring notes of rhubarb, watermelon, cassis, cocoa, cinnamon, clove, pomegranate, raspberry, cherry, wild flower, sage, and bramble. Very food friendly and will pair with a wide variety of dishes. 

Winemaker Description 

This single-varietal wine seeks the typicality and differentiation of the Mencía variety from the easternmost Ribeira Sacra and the great character that the terroir of a historic vineyard gives it.

Intense peck red, medium layer. From a frank nose and very intense varietal aromas to strawberries and blackcurrants with foral notes and a characteristic maturity.
Fassy: The attack is cool, highlights its roundness in the mouth with good balance between alcohol, acidity and tanicity. Long posttaste and a retronasal typical of the mineral character of the plot.

Exceptional selection of the Mencía grapes of the historic vineyard of the Pazo de La Cuesta. Manual harvest, followed by despalillado and discharge by gravity to the fermentation deposits. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature 16 - 18oC, after which malolactic fermentation is performed, both in stainless steel tank. It breeds on its lees and subsequent aging of 6 months in French and Central European oak barrels of 300 and 500 liters.
