Monica Larner writes:  You can't beat this value. The G.D. Vajra 2020 Barolo Albe is buttoned up with fresh primary fruit, and the wine does not have that hint of over-ripeness that is found across this vintage. The fruit is dark and savory, and there is a big mineral component to match, but the bouquet is nicely redolent of dark currant, plum, granite and a raspy dry note that brings crushed shale to mind. The tannins are quite impactful, and they give this wine extra runway for moderate bottle aging.  Drinking 2025 to 2038.  - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 94

Antonio Galloni writes:  The 2020 Barolo Albe is light-bodied, elegant and gracious. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice, new leather and dried herbs are all nicely lifted. Bright acids and nervy tannins give the wine its shape and overall character. The Albe is meant to be an entry-level offering, but I find it often blossoms with a year or two in bottle. The Albe is not terribly complex in 2020, but it is a delight.  Drinking 2024 to 2032.  - Vinous 90

Jancis Robinson writes:  Described as ‘the first post-modernist Barolo’. Great to drink young yet ageworthy, too. Blend of three high vineyards, Fossati, Le Volte and Coste di Vergne in the commune of Barolo, each vinified separately. Maceration is 20–30 days. No more than 18 months in botte for the last 15 years or so. They want to keep freshness and decide on the exact blend for Albe only just before bottling.

A heady seductive nose, rich ripe full fruits on the nose with a gentle and inviting pot pourri nose. Lovely freshness here and seering, mouthwatering cherry juice flavours – acidity is marked but in a really well balanced harmonious way. Just great energy and brightness. No massie complexity but what is delivered is excellent quality fruit that has been well handled. One for earlier drinking to enjoy the pretty, balanced and bright wine. Bordeaux at its most approachable. Drinking Window 2023 – 2033.

One can never have too much Rye, so Redemption High Rye Bourbon recipe approaches the upper limit of allowable Rye grain in a Bourbon mash bill. Aromas of light vanilla, red berry fruitiness and a slight hint of oak. On the palate, spicy, woody, and minty notes. Fennel-like notes of light licorice and black pepper from the Rye. The finish is long and smooth with a nice spice from the high Rye content.

Erin Brooks writes: The 2022 Discovery Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 9% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc sourced from across the Paso Robles region. Matured for 10 months in 50% new French oak, it has ripe aromas of dried plums with wafts of sweet spice, tobacco and mushrooms. The medium-bodied palate is surprisingly light on its feet with gently chewy tannins, just enough fresh acidity and an oak spice-laced finish. This Gruner Veltliner from Gobelsburg is a classic representation of the variety, originating from the Kamptal region of Austria. The wine displays a pale yellow hue, and the aroma is filled with green apple, citrus, and a hint of white pepper.

The palate enjoys a burst of lemon, lime, and a touch of spice, complemented by a crisp acidity and a refreshing finish, making it an excellent choice for light dishes, salads, and seafood.

This hand harvested, 100% Malbec wine is from multiple vineyards in the Uco Valley. The wine predominantly shows notes of coffee, blueberry, and chocolate with secondary notes of licorice, black cherry, cinnamon, baking spices, and sage. The complexity of the wine extends into the palate by being big and bold without being flabby, with smooth tannins and light acidity. The wine finishes extremely strong with plum, cassis, doughnut cake, and fine silky tannins. A wine that out delivers it’s price by tenfold!

Our bourbon starts with the native Kentucky climate and soil in which our corn and rye are grown, and a pristine limestone watershed rich in calcium and magnesium. These local ingredients are distilled and aged for four to six years in American white oak barrels. Because we want to create a genuinely unique spirit, we age it for three to six additional months in hand-selected port casks to create an exceptionally smooth and nuanced bourbon.

Wine Enthusiast 98 Points | A beautiful, mouthwatering newcomer to the whiskey scene. Named for the "angel's share," the portion that evaporates from the barrel during the aging process, this golden amber spirit is finished in Port barrels, which explains those juicy red-fruit notes that slide into the long finish. Look for orange peel, vanilla and roasted nut flavors, too.

Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | This taut and well-balanced wine offers focused aromas and flavors of black cherries, raspberries, cinnamon and toast on a firm texture of good acidity and muscular tannins. While tempting now for its layers of fruit and oak spice, the wine should show best from 2026. 

James Suckling 91 Points: Ripe, spiced and toasty cabernet with blackcurrants, blackberries, cedar, pine nuts and black olives. Full-bodied, structured and a little tight with a sandy texture to the tannins and a firm, slightly chewy finish.

This juicy red is 100% Gamay from a 9 hectare plot of 60 year-old vines planted on granitic soil. No sulphur is used in the cellar and after bottling the wine is left to rest for 2 months before release. Fresh and fruity with low tannins, this makes for great accompaniment to fish dishes. 

A bright crimson-purple in colour. Aromas of red cherries, cassis and strawberries mixed in with pleasantly earthy notes. Juicy and light on the palate with notes of summer red fruit flavours and silky tannins leading to a refreshing finish.

Try chilled with roasted cod, coq au vin or prawn dumplings with a sweet chilli sauce.

Grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted. Semi-carbonic maceration without SO2, for 4-6 days 2 months in “cuve”.

Almost all the grapes for this cuvée come from within the Morgon cru, but the wine is not entitled to the Morgon appellation because yields surpass the accepted limit of 56 hl/ha. This is intentional: the high yields prevent excessive concentration and yield an easy-drinking, fruit-driven red with low alcohol.

The lovely freshness of green fruits is shy on the nose. The palate is light and crunchy but has enticing edges of white pepper on its light, bright, vivid body. Winemaker Description 

Martin Nigl's Freheit Gruner Veltliner is sourced from four different vineyards in the hills above the city of Krems. The soils here are primarily löss and the temperature is moderated by its steep elevation. The name ‘Freiheit’ means “freedom” and is believed to be some of the first privately owned vineyard land in the valley not controlled by the Church or a feudal estate. Fermentation and élevage occur in stainless steel and is bottled at night when the cellars of the coolest has Martin feels this helps preserve the freshness of the wines. Winemaker Description.

Paul de Coste is located in Salon-de-Provence in the south of France. Made with 60% Chardonnay, and 40% Ugni Blanc.  A pale straw color with an abundance of citrus fruit.  It is bursting with freshness. Wonderful luscious finish.
