Jeb Dunnuck writes: Readers looking for a great Bordeaux that won't break the bank need to jump on the 2020 Madame De Beaucaillou. First made in 2018 and all hand-harvested (and optically sorted), it has bright, darker cherry and subtle cassis-like fruits as well as some loamy earth and violet nuances, medium body, a round, supple mouthfeel, and outstanding length. I'd happily drink a bottle any time over the coming 7-8 years or so. Drinking 2023 - 2031 - Jeb Dunnuck 91

Jane Anson writes: A new label that uses all vineyards owned by the Borie family outside of St-Julien - so those in Cussac, Listrac and a small portion of Moulis (both Lalande-Borie and Ducluzeau are now in here). Careful construction helps balance what are fairly tight tannins with savoury plum and blackberry fruits. Harvest from September 11. Concentrated and fresh, touches of tobacco leaf and woodsmoke as it opens. A yield of 22hl/ha, 20% new oak. Drinking 2022 - 2030. - Decanter 90

Georgina Hindle writes: Medicinal herbs and dark fruits - smells forward and nuanced with a soft perfumed element too. A gourmet style with bright acidity and a saline tang. There’s focus, freshness and underlying power. A serious wine with a full body, minty freshness and structure. Plush, succulent, perhaps not overly complex but it really delivers for the price and will age. Firm and grippy finish. Snap this up! - Decanter 92

James Suckling writes: Aromas of currants and dark cherries with orange peel character. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and chocolate with hints of cedar. Crisp and vivid. 66% merlot, 24% cabernet sauvignon and 10% petit verdot. Drink or hold. - James Suckling 92

Antonio Galloni Writes: The 2021 Madame de Beaucaillou is gorgeous. Dark, fresh, vibrant and appealing, the 2021 is an absolute delight to taste. Bright acids run through a core of black cherry, plum, spice, tobacco and gravel, adding energy. The blend this year includes quite a bit more Petit Verdot than normal, which adds to the wine's savory presence. Drinking 2025 - 2036. - Vinous 89-91

William Kelley writes: The 2020 Madame de Beaucaillou exhibits notes of cassis, pencil shavings, plums and violets, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively palate that's structured around youthfully firm, chalky tannins. It should reward a bit of patience. It's derived from some 50 hectares of vineyards in Listrac and Cussac. - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 89+
