Whispering Angel is today's worldwide reference for Provence Rosé. Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino), its pale color is pleasing to the eye and draws one in. The rewarding taste profile is full and lush while being bone dry with a smooth finish.

Highly approachable and enjoyable with a broad range of cuisine, Whispering Angel is a premium Rosé that you can drink from mid-day to midnight. 

This rose wine is delicate, clean and minerally. Pale salmon in color. Fresh peach and strawberry on the nose with plenty of red berry fruits. Full bodied and dry, with pink grapefruit and hints of peach on the palate, lively acidity and a long finish.

Whispering Angel Rose is made by Sacha Lichine and his team at Chateau d'Esclans, in La Motte en Provence, south France. Made from grapes grown from some of the most choice land in the surrounding region of la Motte en Provence, consisting primarily of Grenache, Rolle (Vermentino) and Cinsault.

Few winemakers have come to define their region like Mas de Daumas Gassac has with the Languedoc. What sets Mas de Daumas Gassac apart is their unflinching commitment to pushing the boundaries — of the appellation’s rules, of conventional farming techniques, of “expected” grape varieties.

Aimé and Véronique Guibert purchased the land in the early 1970s; they had planned to start a farm, but weren’t sure what type of crops they wanted to grow. It took convincing from a Bordeaux-based soil scientist, who saw great grape-growing potential in the limestone-rich land, as densely mineral-laden as Burgundy’s Côte d’Or.

Making wine in the Languedoc is nothing new — the Greeks and Romans were doing it millennia ago. In planting their estate to vines, the Guiberts chose to buck local tradition and plant a wide (very wide) assortment of international grapes; there’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, sure, but also Petite Arvine, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo and more. Prior to owning the estate, the Guiberts traveled the world as part of a family leather business, and became enamored with grapes from far-off and exotic locales.

James Sucking 90 Points |  So much apple character to this fresh, supple and juicy blend of grenache, carignan and syrah. Red apples, warm herbs and baking spices complement the succulent forest berries on the nose, following through to a fruity and mellow finish. Drink now. 

Antonio Galloni of Vinous | The 2023 Rosé Guilhem is a fine warm-weather drink. Pale in color, the 2023 is brisk, vibrant and delightful from the first taste. Hints of grapefruit, white flowers, slate and chalk .

Winemaker Notes

Unlike many Sancerre Roses, Gerard harvests his Pinot specifically to make rose by direct press, then into tank. It is not a selection of young vines as he has no young Pinot vines. What makes the rosé one year could make red another, and vice versa, depending on what the vintage gives. 

Varietals: Pinot Noir. Organic: Practicing. Vineyard: From 35-40 year old Pinot Noir vines on the steep hillsides in front of the Boulay home in Chavignol. Orientation: Multiple parcels, varied exposure. Soil: Steep clay hillside. Viticulture: Gerard works the soil manually and lets nature make the wine. Vinification: Tank fermented. Boulay adds no yeast and minimal amounts of SO2. Aging: Tank aged. Production: 200 cases annually.

Antonio Galloni writes:  The 2023 Rosé Sibylle is redolent with crushed berry fruit, rosewater, spice, mint and orange peel. Sensual and layered in the glass, the 2023 possesses lovely textural resonance to play off its effusive aromatics. It’s a gorgeous wine from Gerard Boulay.  Drinking 2024 - 2026.  - Vinous 90

Raspberry pink in color, with a slight prickle of fizz that emphasises its bouquet of red fruits (strawberries) and tropical fruits (banana). It the mouth it is lively and fresh, intense in flavor and well balanced, the overall impression being of lightness and freshness, with an elegant finish.

A fresh, semi-sparkling wine, displaying the best qualities of the Vinho Verde region in northwest Portugal. With a lush green landscape, Vinho Verde may literally mean “green wine” but it translates to “young wine.” Gazela is indeed meant to be drunk young, and is an extremely versatile pairing for all types of cuisine.

Rand Sieger 67 Wine Buyer | This organic Cabernet Franc rosé from the center of the Loire Valley is made from hand harvested fruit half of which is whole cluster direct pressed, and half seigneé (bleeding off). It is dense and aromatic with fresh acidity and a light pearliness.

Winemaker Description

100% Cabernet Franc. Raffault uses 50% certified-organic estate fruit (from sandy, gravelly, flat parcels along the Vienne) and sources the other 50% from a neighboring grower in conversion to organic farming. All of the wine is made from hand-harvested fruit in the Raffault cellar.

Half of the fruit is pressed directly as whole clusters and the other half is saigné. The fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine does not go through malolactic fermentation and is aged in tank as well. It is bottled with a light, non-sterile filtration in the spring following the vintage.

Perfect pale, light rose in color. Beautiful floral and crushed stone aromas and fine peach and melon notes fill the glass. The mouth-feel is delicate and playful with fantastic ripe fresh fruit and classic minerality. 90 Points Robert Parker |  The latest rendition of Ruinart's NV Brut Rosé is a pretty, vibrant wine that offers up inviting aromas of tangerine, blood orange, plum and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and precise, with tangy acids and a pretty mousse, it's ca harming, comparatively vinous wine that is already showing well.

92 Points James Suckling | The appeal of this excellent rosé Champagne begins with the nose of red berries, ripe nectarine, coriander and red roses. Striking balance of delicate tannins, animating freshness and just a touch of creaminess. Long, very clean and dry finish. The cuvée is 55% pinot noir from Aÿ (some fermented as red wine) and 45% chardonnay. Drink now.

50% Syrah, 50% Carignan. This delightful salmon-pink wine is produced via direct press, imparting a delicate, pale but vivid pink color. Fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. Aromatics of strawberries and crushed red fruit leap from the glass. In the mouth, it is fresh with excellent acidity, some mineral components and good length. Very food friendly, it is a great companion to just about anything you want to throw at it.

Certified organic. 65% Mourvèdre, 35% Cinsault. The terraced vineyard faces the sea on the top of a hill that reaches 300m, forming a great natural south-east-facing bowl. Highest elevation in Bandol.

Wine Advocate 92 Points | A blend of 65% Mourvèdre and 35% Cinsault, the 2023 Bandol Rosé from Château de Pibarnon offers up a delicate, complex bouquet of spices, licorice, red berries, lemon, spring flowers and herbs. Medium-bodied, enveloping and beautifully structured, it’s round and juicy with a delicate, lively core of fruit and a mineral, calcareous finish. This is a classical rosé wine from Bandol. (2023).

This beautiful Rosé from Coste di Brenta is made from 100% Montepulciano grape in the Abruzzo region.

One of California's original pinks!  Wild strawberry, peach, guava and rhubarb and a very discreet scent of white pepper with Cinsault furnishing the elegant candied cherry top note that chromatically sits atop its vitaceous conjugate. Mourvèdre, at its near homeopathic level, contributes a useful background earthy note.

Cerasuolo translates as ‘pale cherry red’, and these wines get their distinctive deep hue from a short maceration of 24 hours or less. The high level of anthocyanins in the skin of the Montepulciano grape imbues the must with both colour and tannin in a short timeframe.

Decanter Magazine writes | Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo: Italy’s serious rosé. While we consume swathes of lightly coloured rosé every year, it would be a shame to overlook Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Italy's cherry-coloured alternative.

Our Professional Description

Natural unfiltered Rose from Austria.  Made from Pinot Noir and Merlot.  Very candy like with lots of summer fruits such as strawberries. Tropical fruits include lemons. 

Winemaker Description

Magoutes Vineyard is located at 800 metres above sea level in the inhospitable region of Siatista in Macedonia. The rosé is a blend of 80% Xinomavro and 20% of the über rare Moschomavro (meaning black Muscat), grown almost exclusively by Dimitri Diamantis.

This is a classic case of the vineyard holding sway over the wine making, thanks to Dimitri's very low intervention methods. Spontaneous fermentation, racking off skins and then left in old barrels to finish.

Delicate, partridge eye colour, subtly aromatic bouquet with hints of redcurrants and fraises de bois, the flavours are wonderfully fruity within a structured core of zingy acidity.

Clos du Temple is a very pale and glittering rosé. Its nose reveals notes of ripe fruit (apricot, white peach), floral notes of rose and spicy green pepper aromas. On the palate, we find the same scents, with a delicate finish of blond tobacco.

Full-bodied for rose with a broad structure to it. I love the texture and the creamy, yet fresh mouthfeel, rendering a taut palate with fresh, medium acidity. Flavorful and long. On the palate, the oak is well integrated, with notes of creamy, honeyed richness and white almonds, opening up to vibrant, ripe red berries and fl oral notes. 90 Points Robert Parker | A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Viognier and Mourvèdre, the 2021 Languedoc Cabrières Rosé Clos du Temple was matured for six months in French oak barrels. Evoking aromas of oak, smoke, jasmine, rose petal, gooseberry and spices, it’s tense and fleshy, medium-bodied to full-bodied, lively and rather muscular with a long, fresh finish dominated by oaky notes, which are a little prominent for me at the moment. (2021).

Château Sainte Roseline, Lampe de Méduse, with its unique shape, is the iconic and historic cuvée of the estate. Since 1950, it has been the heart of the production of this famous Cru Classé vineyard.

Famous as a historic site but also for its premium Rosés, Château Sainte Roseline is a Provence icon.

Its pale color is slightly salmony. The complex and intense nose reveals fine notes of peaches and mangos. The beautiful liveliness and persistence of the aromatic notes at the end of the palate make this a very crunchy wine. A minty finish sublimates its beautiful freshness.

Billy Norris of Vinous writes | The 2023 Rosé Lampe de Meduse is dark and alluring on the nose, displaying watermelon, red berry fruit and orange peel aromas. Rounded and honeyed on the palate, there's just enough acidity to propel this past the finish line. Rosemary and thyme hints hang around after the close, kicking this wine more into the savory spectrum than I expected. This is interesting and characterful.  Drinking 2024 - 2025.

Jancis Robinson writes 16 Points | Drier and more substantial than their Prestige 2023 bottling. Lots of fruit with a (just) sufficiently dry finish. Some intrigue.
