Granville Pinot Noir Farmhouse Cuvee 2022 750ml
Expert Review
Vinous Josh Reynolds | Deep red. Ripe, spice-tinged cherry and dark berries on the nose and in the mouth. In a warm, ample style, showing good breadth, velvety texture and repeating spiciness on the nicely persistent finish, which features jammy dark fruit character and just a trace of tannin.
Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019 750ml
Jeb Dunnuck | A wine that’s been made since 1967, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a beautifully textured, medium-bodied, sweetly fruited charmer that has lots of cassis and redcurrant fruit, some spicy oak, ripe tannins, and the balance to evolve and drink nicely for a decade. I think it’s outstanding. (2019).
Patrick Galant Chateauneuf du Pape 2020 750ml
Our Professional Review
Bart Hopkins 67Wine.com | A rich purple color gives way to a distinguished nose
brimming with the aromas of red fruit. Galant Châteauneuf Du Pape features a powerful palate of smooth tannins with notes of kirsch creating a perfect pairing with red meats, game, truffle-based dishes, and creamy cheese.
Winemaker Description
Dark chocolate, toast and hazelnut accent black cherry and mulberry in this plush Grenache-dominant blend. It's soft and unctuous on the palate, with pliant acidity and ripe, chalky tannins that grip the finish.

Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 750ml
Winemaker Description
Chambertin is the wine of Kings. Masculine, powerful and well built. Vigorous and firm, well-structured and very dense. With great persistence in the mouth and aromas of chocolate, licorice and red berries.
Expert Reviews
Jasper Morris 100 Points | An imperial robe as we have come to expect. The bouquet is very backward, no problem there either, all about the fruit, the new wood is irrelevant. Starts slowly then builds immaculately, still too early really to see the detail. As always it is about grace style intensity and length rather than overt muscle, all the finesse one can want. Long and lovely
Robert Parker 97 Points Wine Advocate | Rousseau's 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries, orange rind, plums, exotic spices, Egyptian musk, woodsmoke and rose petals. Full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's deep and tightly wound, with striking intensity and energy. Still very primary, even after a year's élevage, it will require patience, but it's a magical Chambertin in the making.
Domaine de la Romanee Conti ROMANEE CONTI Grand Cru Monopole 2020 750ml
Expert Review
Vinous 99 Points | The 2020 Romanée-Conti Grand Cru was picked on 26 and 28 August at 28.7hL/ha. As usual, I leave it for 5-10 minutes to open in the glass, predisposed not to show everything upon first pour. It reveals lovely dark berry fruit, sous-bois, clove and haunting sea spray notes (picture yourself walking along the pebble beach at Whistable and the tang of shucked oyster shell in the salty air). The palate is medium-bodied with very fine and pliant tannins. Harmonious to a tee with a perfect silver bead of acidity, long and languorous, this fans out with ineffable ease on the finish. Stunning. 500 cases produced. Tasted at Corney & Barrow’s annual in bottle tasting in London.
Domaine Guy et Yvan Dufouleur Pommard Les Vaumuriens 2018 750ml
Winemaker Description
The harvested grapes are carefully sorted in the winery. Enzymage, yeasting, cold pre-fermentation maceration for one week, daily pigeage, warm maceration. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, of which 1/3 new, malolactic fermentation in barrels, then assembly in stainless steel tanks for 3 months. Light filtration to bring more clarity and aromatic purity.
Tasting Notes: Ruby-purple color with mauve gleams, aroma of blackberries, redcurrant, cherry stone. A feline and wild evolution is not uncommon over time. Orientation towards leather, chocolate, pepper. A wine to be allowed to age a little so that it opens fully. Wine for laying down.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis 2021 750ml
James Suckling 93 Points: This supple but structured wine is sourced from various parts of the valley, yet still has the gentle power of the Stags Leap District. Suave oak spices, rich dark fruit and a full body give a generous, broad feel that is nicely freshened by fine-grained tannins.
Wine Spectator 92 Points: Delivers a lovely burst of boysenberry and mulberry puree flavors that glide through, marrying well with judicious accents of glossy toast, anise, sweet tobacco and apple wood through the finish. Drink now through 2036. 87,500 cases made.
The 2021 Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon offers inviting aromas of boysenberry, plum, currant, chocolate and baking spice. The rich and creamy entrance leads to a fresh and flavorful mid-palate. The wine is full-bodied with rich fruit flavors and integrated tannins that are persistent and plush.
Enjoy this Cabernet Sauvignon with grilled tri-tip, braised short ribs, or pasta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto. Winemaker Description.
Burlotto G.B. Comm. Barolo Cannubi 2019 750ml
Caprili Brunello di Montalcino 2015 750ml
Expert Reviews
95 points Vinous Media "Vibrant red. Minerals and violet complement lively red cherry and raspberry aromas on the incisive nose. Then enticingly fresh and well-balanced, with captivating violet inner-mouth perfume to the steely red and black fruit flavors that linger impressively. The delicately peppery finish features polished if youthful tannins and noteworthy purity of fruit. Knockout 2015 Brunello, one of the top half dozen of the year."
95 points Wine Spectator "Offering cherry, plum, iron, earth and floral aromas and flavors, this is vibrant and beautifully balanced. Well-structured, with the harmony and concentration to develop." (Bruce Sanderson)
95 points James Suckling "This is a very decadent Brunello with dried stems, charcuterie, bay leaf, Thai basil and earth. Full-bodied and dense, the deeply interlocked layers of dark fruit nearly tripping over the ropey, chewy tannin structure."
93 points The Wine Advocate "The Caprili 2015 Brunello di Montalcino offers warm-vintage aromas of dark fruit and dried cherry followed by earthy tones of leather and moist potting soil. This is a classic rendition of Sangiovese that shows the opulence and richness of this sunny vintage, as well as the elegant restraint that you normally associate with the mighty Montalcino growing area. The palate reveals a spot of fruity sweetness, but you also get the savory and spicy elements that come with extended barrel aging. Overall, this is an easy and accessible expression of Brunello for near- and medium-term drinking." (Monica Larner)

Bodegas Pinord Mas Blanc +7 Priorat DOQ Organic 2018 750ml
Winemaker Description
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Syrah. Deep red in colour which lingers in the glass. The ageing in oak is noticeable, well blended with fruity aromas which give it finesse and complexity.
Mouth-filling and complex, smooth and well balanced on the palate. This is a wine which shows slightly smoked red fruit.
Benton-Lane Pinot Noir FIRST CLASS 2014 750ml
Winemaker Description
Before tasting this wine, it is important to note its incredible color. It’s a beautiful dark ruby red with a slight hint of blue – reminiscent of the beautiful tail light lenses on 1940’s vintage cars.
The aromas swirl around in the glass and blend together. The fruit notes are candied cranberry and cassis, then rich vanilla from the toasted white oak, and a rich earth or mushroom aroma.
The wine is definitely full flavored, but without imposing tannins. The predominant flavors are cranberry and fig fruit notes on a mocha framework. The rose petal notes, sweet rich earth and fresh cracked pepper flavors that seem to get along beautifully. Note the flash of tangerine in the finish. This is a youngster of a wine that will keep on showing new stuff for a long, long time.
Expert Review
James Suckling 91 Points | Extremely aromatic with strawberries, cedar, tea and light caramel. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a fruity finish – yet this always remains reserved and refined. Drink or hold. (2014).
Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Tre Stelle 2018 750ml
Winemaker Description

Fermented with skins for three weeks with remontage. Aged in Slavonian botti of 10-20HL for 18 months followed by time in the bottle before release. No clarification or filtering before bottling.
Expert Review
Wine Advocate 94 Points | Compared to the Rio Sordo, the Cascina delle Rose 2018 Barbaresco Tre Stelle is slightly more robust and open-knit. This wine shows a more overt concentration that comes across with blackberry and wild cherry. To the palate, it shows a smooth but nicely elaborate texture. There are light touches of crushed stone and even some tobacco on the close.
Domaine de Villaine Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps 2019 750ml
Expert Reviews
Robert Parker 91+ Points | Another comparatively structured wine is the 2019 Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps. Opening in the glass with notions of cherries, sweet red berries, petals and orange oil, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and fleshy, with a rich chassis of powdery tannin that will reward a bit of bottle age.
Domaine Bertrand et Axelle Machard de Gramont Vosne Romanee Organic 2020 750ml
Winemaker Description
This producer makes a number of other wines including this one from Pinot Noir in addition to those from the grape Aligote.
In the less expensive category for Vosne-Romanee wines. The price has been stable over the past year.
Corison KRONOS Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 750ml
Winemaker Description
The 2017 is brighter and less brooding than typical Kronos vintages in their youth, with luscious, juicy cassis, luxardo cherry, blueberry and raspberry fruit. Signature blackberry pie flavors, complete with baking spices, proclaim a sense of place. Approachable now, the tannins provide a velvet grip. Grace notes include toasted almonds and hints of peppermint. Firm acidity and mineral verve keep it lively. Violets and dried rose petals are already perfuming the aromas.
Expert Reviews
Wine Spectator 93 Points | Focused, with slightly high-toned vanilla and red licorice notes running along the edges of a red currant and plum preserve-filled core. A late flurry of sweet spice, black tea and incense on the finish adds a distinctive edge. Relies on freshness and acidity, more than outright grip. Cellar this for a bit. Best from 2023 through 2034.
Wine Enthusiast 95 Points | Tangy in red fruit, tangerine, grapefruit and a hint of iron, this vineyard-designate imparts bold, concentrated intensity within a restrained and balanced package of brightness and verve. From a relatively warm vintage and warm location, it retains nuance, elegance and length, with structure to age. Enjoy this impressively made wine best from 2027–2037 Cellar Selection.
Wine Advocate 95 Points | Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Kronos Vineyard needs a little coaxing to reveal enticing notes of freshly crushed black cherries, redcurrant jelly and wild blueberries with a undercurrent of cassis, allspice, sandalwood and rose oil plus a touch of garrigue. The medium-bodied palate has a real skip in its step, with delicately played, bright, energetic black and red berry layers, supported by fine-grained tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
James Suckling 96 Points | Beautiful blueberry and lavender aromas. Violets, too. So perfumed. Medium to full body and very fine, focused tannins. Purity and beauty to the wine. Pretty length. Drinkable now, but much better after 2024.
Petrus Pomerol 2015 750ml
Winemaker Description
Bordeaux's most intensely concentrated, richly flavored and unique red wine. An incredible power, depth and richness yet a remarkable balance with penetrating aromas of ripe mulberry, black currant and fruit and spicy vanilla oak, setting it apart from all Bordeaux's finest wines.
Expert Reviews
Wine Spectator 96 points | Reserved right now, but there is a well of blackberry, boysenberry and plum coulis flavors in reserve here, infused with black tea, anise and singed spice elements. Remarkably silky, elegant and extremely long, this unfurls ever so slowly in the glass, beguiling with texture and fruit purity. Best from 2022 through 2042.
Wine Enthusiast 100 points | This is like drinking liquid black currants and blackberries. The wine has great intensity and richness from the superbly generous Merlot. The wood aging is still there as a hint in the background although the fruit and acidity dominate. Drink from 2026.
Wine Advocate 100 points | Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Petrus (bottled in mid-July 2017) opens in its own time to reveal crushed black cherries, warm plums, mulberries and cedar chest suggestions with touches of anise, lavender, beef drippings and wild thyme plus a waft of crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with generous, exuberant, wonderfully layered red, black and perfumed blue fruits contrasted beautifully by very ripe, very fine-grained and very firm tannins plus an ethereal line of seamless acid, finishing long and minerally. Olivier Berrouet and his team have knocked it out of the park in 2015. Look for this Pétrus to build and unfold over the next 20 years and confidently cellar this legend for 40+ years.
Decanter 100 points | There is so much going on with Petrus in 2015 that you should just pull up a chair and relax, don't expect to be going anywhere soon. Aromatic persistency keeps reaching in, pulling you further alongside. There is a soft quality to the tannins that allows the black fruit to be both juicy and sweet. High alcohol is balanced by freshness - a pH of 3.5 is relatively rare on these sticky clay soils - unleashing waves of flavour, including bergamot, smoky tea, black olives and rich cherry. The persistency is crazy - I had to get my notes back out two or three times to take down additional flavours because it just kept giving something more. And it makes you smile! What more do you want? Bottled in June, but will not be sent out to customers until April 2018. 50% new oak.
Jeb Dunnuck 99 points | The 2015 Petrus is undoubtedly one of the gems in the vintage and will probably merit a perfect score in another decade. Even so, it has the sexy, exotic nature of the vintage front and center and offers a huge perfume of black currants, kirsch liqueur, Asian spices, and incense. As always, this beauty is 100% Merlot that was brought up in 50% new wood in 2015. A wine that opens up beautifully with time in the glass, it has beautiful mid-palate depth, sweet, sweet tannins, and voluptuous yet weightless texture that needs to be tasted to be believed. Hide bottles for 4-5 years, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following 3-4 decades.James Suckling 100 points The aromas to this are a reference for Pomerol with truffles, black olives, black licorice and dark fruit. Even brown sugar. Full-bodied, layered and multi-dimensional. Chocolate underlines the character above. The perfect tannin texture, length and balance make you think you're dreaming. All about harmony and beauty. Love to taste it now but needs at least five or six years.
Vietti Barolo Brunate 2016 1.5L MAGNUM
Expert Review
James Suckling 95 Points | This has a rather reserved nose with dried-herb, rosehip, potpourri and light cedary aromas, ahead of fragrant dried cherries. The palate has quite dense and smoothly rendered, ripe tannins that deliver a long, composed and approachable Barolo. Drink or hold.

Orin Swift PINOT NOIR L'Usine SLEEPY HOLLOW Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands 2017 750ml
Opus One 2014 1.5 Liter MAGNUM
Winemaker Description
It’s quite a serious, savoury Opus which will need a few years in the cellar to unwind,’ said Kelley of the 2014 vintage, advising a drinking window of 2020 to 2037.
Expert Reviews
97 Points James Suckling | Mesmerizing aromas of flowers, bark, currants and blackberries. So perfumed. You just want to smell it. Exquisite tension and finesse with an almost Burgundian texture, yet it’s Napa in its soul with ripe fruit, stones, spices and Chinese tea leaf flavors. Savory and delicious. Drinkable but better in 2020.
96 Points Robert Parker | Deep garnet colored, the 2014 Opus One opens with youthful notes of warm blackberries, chocolate-covered cherries, redcurrant jelly and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of bay leaves, tobacco leaf and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, firm and grainy with a lively backbone and tightly wound black and red berry layers, it finishes with a compelling herbal lift.
93 Points Wine Spectator | Youthfully packed, featuring currant and cherry paste notes balled up at the core, while savory, menthol and sage flavors stay buried in the background. Offers a singed alder frame, with a telltale cast iron bolt emerging at the very end. This still has a ways to go before peaking. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec. Non-blind Opus One vertical. Best from 2027 through 2036. 27,000 cases made.
93 Points Decanter | A cool bouquet of fruit compote and wild plum mingles with notes of clove, incense and lilac. On the palate the wine is youthfully taut, with a good line of acidity and fine but assertive tannins. It's quite a serious, savoury Opus which will need a few years in the cellar to unwind.
Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Biodynamic 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews
Wine Advocate 95 Points | The 2020 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is no less impressive. Exhibiting aromas of plums, red berries and cassis mingled with orange rind, cinnamon, vanilla pod and spices, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with a concentrated core of fruit, lively acids and a long, rose-inflected finish.
Barrel Sample: 95-97 Burghound 94 Points | This is aromatically similar to the Clos St. Denis but even more floral. Here too there is a wonderfully attractive mouthfeel on the powerful, muscular and dense broad-shouldered flavors that are also blessed with an abundance of dry extract that buffers the massively persistent finale. This terrific effort is a blend of power and refinement and a wine that should age accordingly. A "wow" wine and on the better wines of the vintage.
Barrel Sample: 94-97Decanter 97 Points | Complex and aromatically nuanced, showing well-developed plummy fruit, with accents of earth, leather, smoke and spice. The initial feel on the palate is tannic and concentrated, but the wine is still approachable and supple, with a lovely, long line to the lingering finish. Superb wine. Dujac owns nearly 2ha here, scattered across six parcels and five of the different lieux-dits, including the original Clos de la Roche, Les Froichots, Les Fremières, Monts Luisants and Les Chabiots, giving a balanced view of this grand cru.

Domaine de la Romanee Conti La Tache Grand Cru Monopole 2017 750ml
Winemaker Description
The 2017 La Tâche Grand Cru soars from the glass with a captivating and beautifully integrated bouquet of exotic spices, rose petals, raspberries, cherries and blood orange mingled with notions of cinnamon and coniferous forest floor. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with a deep and tightly coiled core that marks it out as the most muscular wine in the cellar, displaying considerable concentration and largely concealed structure. While this is a dramatic young La Tâche, there's evidently plenty held in reserve, too, and it simply has appreciably more presence than any of the other wines that preceded it in this tasting. Winemaker Description.
Domaine Jean Grivot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2016 750ml
Winemaker Description
The wine shows aromas and flavors of red berries, herbs, and purple flowers. The palate is rich with ripe fruit and medium weight with bright acidity and fine tannins. Aging in 40-70% new Burgundian pièce brings notes of vanilla, toast, and baking spices.
Red Burgundy might be the world’s most flexible food wine. The wine’s high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner to roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami.
Expert Reviews
Burghound 95 Points | A distinctly earthy and very ripe nose flashes notes of plum, dark currant, violet, mocha and discreet but not invisible wood. The rich, full-bodied and powerful big-bodied flavors terminate in mouth coating, youthfully austere and impressively long finish. This terrific if very backward effort is a classic Clos de Vougeot of power and restraint that will require ample cellar time.
Wine Spectator 95 Points | A silky version, this offers strawberry, currant and floral aromas and flavors, accented by earth and stone notes. Solid, with vibrant acidity and a lingering aftertaste of fruit and spice, backed by a chalky feel. Best from 2023 through 2042.—B.S.
Icardi Barolo Parej 2010 3.0 L DOUBLE MAGNUM
Winemaker Description
Zesty garnet red. Rich and spicy. Ripe cherry aroma, pleasant for its smoothness.
Expert Reviews
Wine Spectator | Elegant, with a supple texture backed by lively acidity, framing sour cherry, cocoa and tobacco flavors. Finishes with tannins and a hint of leather. Best from 2016 through 2026. 3,000 cases made. –BS
Vinous 91 Points | Claudio Icardi's 2010 Barolo Parej is one of the more accessible wines of the vintage. Rose petal, spice, cinnamon, plum and game notes all flesh out in the glass in an inviting, textured Barolo with good length and plenty of personality. The tension and acidity of the vintage are tempered by the softness of the fruit, but they kick on the finish. This deceptively mid-weight 2010 Barolo could use another few years for the tannins to soften a touch. -- Antonio Galloni
Finca Allende Rioja Aurus 2010 750ml
Winemaker Description
An intense red-purple colour. Potent and elegant on the nose with a great complexity of aromas (jams, minerals, menthol, spices, wild herbs, toffee and cacao).
Great harmony in the mouth with very marked sweet tannins, very complex and full of flavours of black fruits, raisins, liquorice, coffee, ink and aromatic herbs. Persistent lingering finish. Excellent wine for aging.
Domaine Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2019 750ml
Winemaker Description
This vineyard lies in Morey-Saint-Denis and is the only appellation in the Domain which is not part of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are mineral and vibrant; long, firm and very consistent.
Expert Reviews
Wine Advocate 93 Points | The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru opens in the glass with rich aromas of berry fruit, loamy soil, peonies, dark chocolate and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and elegantly muscular, it's generous and enveloping, with velvety tannins and fine depth at the core. Bright and lively, it's another wine that marries maturity with freshness. Cyrielle Rousseau told me that she began picking on September 12, with yields averaging out at around 35 hectoliters per hectare, and that this is the second vintage to deliver maturities sufficiently elevated that the domaine didn't chaptalize a single cuvée. While Rousseau is never one to show all her cards, she did admit to liking 2019, saying that "they're wines that evoke emotions—more so than 2018." Deep, vibrant and concentrated, with ethereal bouquets and seamless structure, I'm inclined to think that—taken as a whole—this is in fact Rousseau's finest vintage since 2012 or even 2010, though of course the most successful cuvées in 2016 and 2015 might be cited to challenge that assertion in detail. In any case, it's a superb set of wines that will be worth tracking down even in today's overheated Burgundy market.
Burghound 92 Points | Here too there is just enough wood to remark upon surrounding the well-layered blend of red and blue pinot fruit, earth and a plenitude of spice and floral elements. The wonderfully energetic, sleek and equally muscular larger-scaled flavors also brim with minerality on the refined, focused, balanced and even more persistent finish. This is terrific and a wine that should easily repay two decades of cellaring if you have the patience.
Decanter 95 Points | Produced from three parcels: two in the original Clos de la Roche vineyard and almost 1ha in Les Fremières. Aged in used casks like the producer's Charmes, this has a very different character, with dark, plummy fruit alongside an earthy note on the nose, and a texture that is less firm perhaps, but broader and more full-bodied. Very solid.
Charles Curtis, MW
Vinous 93 Points | The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is highly perfumed on the nose, presenting an irresistible mixture of red and subtle blue fruit, very harmonious and exquisitely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. A feminine and very elegant Clos de la Roche that may well be earlier-drinking than others but feels very poised, with a touch of spice on the finish. Excellent.
Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint Jacques 2019 750ml
Expert Reviews
Wine Advocate 91 Points | The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques is promising, mingling aromas of cassis and smoky berries with hints of loamy oil, raw cocoa and potpourri. Medium-bodied, bright and lively, with a succulent core of fruit framed by ultra-refined tannins, it concludes with a long, perfumed finish. This is the highest-alcohol wine in the cellar in 2019, but that certainly didn't stand out in the glass. Barrel Sample: 91-93.
Vinous Barrel Sample 90-93 Points | Moderate reduction dominates the underlying fruit today. Otherwise there is very good volume and intensity to the tautly muscular and serious medium-bodied flavors that brim with minerality while exhibiting excellent depth and persistence on the well-balanced and mildly austere finale. This is firm but not as firm as it usually is though with that said, it will still need 10 to 12 years of cellaring.
Domaine Jean Grivot Echezeaux Grand Cru 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews
Burghound 93 Points | (From Les Cruots which is also known as Vignes Blanches). Touches of bitter chocolate and kirsch are present on the spicy aromas of plum, violet and soft wood. The finer if not denser flavors possess a velvety texture while also coating the palate with dry extract on the dusty and chalky finish that is likewise youthfully austere. I very much like the depth and persistence and this beauty should also age gracefully for as long as most anyone would like.
Barrel Sample: 93-96 Decanter 97 Points | A very elegant expression of Echezeaux, with a velvety black plum and rose petal fruit. There is a lovely freshness and so much finesse that the tannin and structure might surprise you at the end. This has the substance to age for decades. Produced from a 0.84ha parcel in Cruots next to Comte Liger-Belair. The vines were planted in 1954 and the destemmed fruit was gently fermented.
Barrel Sample: 97Vinous 92 Points | The 2020 Echézeaux Grand Cru offers mulberry sous-bois and very subtle star anis aromas on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins quite taut and fresh linear at the moment with touches of blood orange and Clementine towards the finish. Give this several years in bottle. (Drink between 2027-2055).
Querciabella Camartina 2008 750ml
Expert Reviews
Wine Spectator 90 Points | This red shows some depth to the black cherry, black currant, iron and tobacco aromas and flavors. There is a hint of tar, and the firm structure is well-integrated. Drink now through 2032. — Bruce Sanderson
Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | This blend opens with ripe aromas that recall blueberry and strawberry jam, followed by notes of spice, chocolate and moist tobacco. The finish is soft and velvety, and it comes with a touch of plush richness. This is complex and balanced.
Decanter 91 Points | Sweet wood nuances lead with cinnamon, clove and a touch of vanilla eventually ceding to wild cherry and wet soil. On the palate, forest berries are laced with chocolate. The fruit is concentrated and plush with ripe, powdery tannins giving effortless support. This is its usual sophisticated and polished self, with lots of juiciness. Yields are a low 30 hL/ha and ageing is in a combination of French oak tonneaux and barriques, 10% new. Give this another year for the wood to integrate. Drinking 2022 -2027 — Michaela Morris
Jancis Robinson 17.5 Points | Greve in Chianti. 100% Sangiovese. The grapes were destemmed but not crushed and fermented in stainless steel as well as oak casks where it also went through MLF. Aged in barriques and tonneaux for up to 14 months. Certified vegan and organic.
Walter Speller | Medium to deep crimson. Gorgeous nose of cherry and with the scent of cigar box. Luscious juicy fruit on the palate and silky tannins that make their mark. Beautiful balance and elegant and concentrated at the same time. Amazing length and focus. Drinking 2021 -2028.
Vinous 93 Points | The 2018 Chianti Classico is classy, polished and exceptionally beautiful. Like so many wines in 2018, the Chianti Classico is aromatic and gracious in feel, more finesse than power. Silky tannins wrap around a core of bright Sangiovese fruit. From start to finish, the 2018 is all class. Drinking 2020 -2033.
