Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2019 750ml
Soft contours and lots of bright fruit with cherry, cassis and wild plum.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2019
Wine Spectator 92 Points | This red starts out supple, revealing cherry, blackberry, violet and spice flavors. There's a line of dusty tannins underneath, yet this is balanced and long in the end. Best from 2025 through 2039.

Wine Enthusiast 91 Points | The stony, metallic nose is all graphite, pencil shavings, pennies and topsoil with subtle fruit aromas of cherry skin and orange peel scorched quickly to release its essential oil. Juicier cherries on the palate are still traced by graphite and crushed soil, held together with tightly wound tannins.
James Suckling 90 Points | Dark cherries, baked cherries, cloves, herbs and cedar on the nose. It’s medium- to full-bodied with solid tannins. Quite firm still with a fruity frame and a chewy finish.
Winemaker Description
In the beautiful olive and cypress-studded countryside between Florence and Siena lay the quaint hilltop villages of the Chianti Classico region. The wine of the same name is produced exclusively in this charming and beautiful area.
Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. Elegant, full, harmonious, and persistent on the nose, with suggestions of vanilla and raspberry. On the palate, it is long, velvety, full, generous, and warm.
Perfect with roasts and game.

"This powerful red is hallmarked by forthcoming aromas of black cherry, blackberry, iron, tar and tobacco. Burly tannins prowl in the background as this unfurls to a long, detailed finish. Balanced in a broad-shouldered way."
Wine Spectator - 93 points
"From a cooler vintage coming after the scorching hot previous year, the 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva has soft contours and lots of bright fruit with cherry, cassis and wild plum. This is a medium-weight Sangiovese with bright acidity. It ends with earthy notes of iris and blue flower."
The Wine Advocate - 91 points
"A spicy nose with cherries, dried herbs, bark, baking spices and dried earth. Medium- to full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Structured, with a powdery texture on the center-palate and a chewy finish. Best after 2024."
James Suckling - 91 points
"Delicious oak provides the background to chocolatey overripe fruits, mint, black pepper, and a juicy-warm finish."
