Erin Brooks writes:  The 2021 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (not yet in bottle) features bright cranberry, raspberry, orange peel, aniseed and lavender on the nose. The medium-bodied palate already feels complete, offering a balance of grainy tannins, mouthwatering acidity and generous, perfumed fruit. As it spends time in the glass it gains amplitude as it continues to unfold its concentrated flavors, and its juiciness calls you back to take another sip  - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93-95

James Suckling writes:  Fresh cherries, strawberries, red plums and cloves. Juicy mushroom notes, too. Medium-bodied, fresh and plump, with soft tannins and a succulent finish. Drink now.  - James Suckling 92

Tim Fish writes:  Precise and elegantly structured, with detailed raspberry, savory tea and crushed stone accents that gather richness and tension toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2031.   Wine Spectator 94  -  2023 Top 100 Wines

Winemaker Notes:

#9 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2023

Deep and brilliant dark ruby color. On the nose, aromas of red fruits pair elegantly with a touch of spice and wood. Flavors such as cherries and currants standout in the mouth and finish with soft tannins and a pleasant minerality.

A beautiful bright ruby color for this expressive wine, with aromas of blueberry, raspberry, orange peel, rose, lavender, black pepper and morel mushroom. The palate is generous, fresh and fruity, and the tannins are well balanced by a pleasant acidity.

"Aromas rich in savory, woodsy and spicy notes lead to vibrant black cherries, grilled plums, mushrooms, star anise and a touch of black pepper. Distinctive for a broad Willamette Valley bottling, this is lively and medium-bodied."
James Suckling - 93 points
