Eric Guido writes:  The 2019 Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso Ripassa is dark and brooding in the glass with rich plum and mocha complicated by crushed ashen stone. This is surprisingly juicy and energetic within, blending sour cherry with notes of sage and black olive over a core of brisk acidity. The 2019 leaves the cheeks puckered while finishing full of tension and spicy as a balsamic flourish slowly tapers off.  Drinking 2023 - 2027  - Vinous 91

James Suckling writes:  A lovely mix of red berries, bright orange peel and spicy cedar on the nose, following through to a full, round and silky palate with very fine tannins that are well integrated into the texture. Lots of flavor and good length. Hard not to settle down to a glass or two of this. Sustainable. Drink now.  - James Suckling 93

Alison Napjus writes:  An elegant red, medium-bodied and fresh, with light, fine tannins framing a juicy range of sun-dried cherry and cranberry fruit, red licorice, eucalyptus and spiced orange peel notes that linger on the finish. Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone. Drink now through 2029.  Wine Spectator 91

Monica Larner writes:  The Zenato 2018 Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Ripassa shows plummy fruit, dark cherry and sweet spice over a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel. The wine is sweet and spreads broadly over the palate with soft tannins and some evident sweetness. This is an informal wine to pair with grilled meats or spicy sausage.  - Robert Parker Wine Advocate
