Meo Camuzet Frere et Soeurs Fixin 2020 750ml
The palate is smooth and vivacious and slightly tart red fruit. This is a delight.

Wine Advocate 89 Points | The 2020 Fixin 1er Cru Clos du Chapitre (Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeurs) has turned out nicely, exhibiting aromas of cassis, plums and woodsmoke, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's bright and vibrant, with ripe tannins and a penetrating finish. Jean-Nicolas Méo began his harvest on August 23, and he has produced another fine vintage at this Vosne-Romanée reference point. Méo has always done well in warm, sunny vintages (as a lovely bottle of his 2003 Nuits Lavières recently reminded me), and 2020 is no exception. Indeed, for a vintage that was generally somewhat primary and frequently tightly wound this winter, Méo's wines—habitually quite backward after 12 months' élevage—were remarkably put together and expressive. Mostly landing at around 13.5% alcohol, they're vibrant, concentrated and nicely balanced, showing considerable aging potential.
Burghound 89 Points | A subtle but not invisible application of wood frames very ripe aromas of poached plum, black currant and earth. The plush, velvety and fleshy medium-bodied flavors exude evident minerality on the firm, palate coating and moderately chewy and rustic finale. This robust effort is clearly constructed to age and is a wine that will need at least some forbearance.
Vinous 90 Points | The 2020 Fixin Clos du Chapitre 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet that delivers commendable mineralité, quite precise and focused.
The palate is smooth and very pliant, vivacious and slightly tart red fruit with just a touch of spice developing on the finish. This is a delight.
