A pale yellow colour with shimmering highlights. The bubbles form a delicate necklace of fine mousse. The nose is subtle and fresh, suggestive of the delightful aromas of white blossom and ripe fruit, with overtones of yellow peaches and dried apricots.

The first impression on the palate is soft and mellow and remains very fresh. It is dominated by flavours reminiscent of raisins and fruit in syrup.

The aftertaste is long and soft with a subtle sweetness. All in all it is rounded, rich and well balanced.

The style of Nocturne makes it ideal for enjoying before, during and after dinner.
Grape Variety: 30% Pinot Noir, 30 Pinot Meunier, 40% Chardonnay

Taittinger Nocturne is a 'Sec' Champagne made from 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The finished blend includes over 35 'crus' from several different harvests.

The wine is aged on its lees for at least 4 years before being disgorged. A dosage of 20g of cane sugar per litre is then added. This dosage is twice that of Taittinger Brut Reserve NV and half of Taittinger Demi Sec.+

90 Points Vinous: "Bright yellow. Deeply perfumed aromas of poached pear, melon, nectarine and lemon curd are complemented by suggestions of buttered toast, anise and chamomile. Plush and broad on the palate, offering ripe citrus and pit fruit flavors with a touch of chalky minerality adding cut and lift. A floral quality builds slowly with air and carries through the spicy, sappy, gently sweet finish. I like this Champagne's balance of fruitiness and vivacity and there's no way that I'd have guessed that its dosage was so high." 01/15.

91 Points John Gilman: "The new iteration of Taittinger Nocturne Sec non-vintage is the same blend as last year: forty percent chardonnay, thirty-five percent pinot noir and twenty-five percent pinot meunier and was finished with the same dosage as previous releases, 17.5 grams per liter. The wine ages four years on its fine lees prior to disgorgement and offers up a deep and classy nose of peach, melon, chalky soil tones, brioche, musky floral tones redolent of honeysuckle and lavender. Onthe palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite zesty, with a good core, bright acids, elegant mousse and fine interplay of minerality, acidity and residual sweetness on the long and vibrant finish. As has been the case since its first release, this is a really well done, sweeter-styled Champagne. 2017-2030+." 6/17 #69
