Thomas-Labaille Chavignol Sancerre Rosé L'Authentique 2023 750ml

100% Pinot Noir. Thomas-Labaille bottles both white and rosé Sancerre called L'Authentique. All of the vines are on the Kimmeridgian limestone soils of Chavignol and average twenty-five years old; they are sustainably farmed and harvested by hand. The rosé is a direct-press wine that, like the white, is fermented with native yeasts in fiberglass and cement tanks, aged on its lees in stainless steel tanks forfour to six months, does not go through malolactic fermentation and is bottled without filtration.

Vinous 90 points Dusty and floral, the 2022 Rosé Sancerre l'Authentique opens with a pretty blend of young peach, melon and citrus zest. Soothingly soft and round, this builds traction through a core of saline minerals as a subtle tinge of tart wild berries resonates. The 2022 tapers off with tension and floral traces. - Eric Guido
