Girolamo Russo's Etna Rosato is produced in Passopisciaro from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes vinified in pink. It is a very interesting and easy to drink wine.

The bouquet recalls notes of pomegranate and wild strawberries that alternate with hints of broom; the sip is supported by a big boost savory and mineral, with a lingering finish and great freshness.

The vines are very old, and some are over 100 years old. Their roots lie in a ground that is unique in the world: in the many layers of sciara that the great volcano has erupted over the millennia. And each sciara (as the Sicilians call the old lava, according to the Arabic etymology) holds a different hoard of minerals for the grapes.

Sometimes it also ends up giving its name to a district, where the vineyards often fill narrow terraces, held up by dry-stone walls of lava stone. And so, among lava, ashes and brooms, each district has its own character, its own voice: engraved in the terroir that covers it, and which Giuseppe returns in the wines.
