Perhaps its pale color and floral intensity discouraged the wine critics looking for power and concentration, but sommeliers and foodies are discovering the allure of this elusive grape. The 2021 Grignolino d’Asti from Marchese Incise della Rochetta is deceptively pale in color, but substantial in aroma and flavor. The bouquet is rose petals and red berries accented with an earthy complexity. In the mouth the wine is unexpectedly full bodied with a savory richness that lingers into the finish. Highly versatile and friendly at the table, don’t be afraid to pair this with exotic flavor combinations and food pairings, the culinary possibilities are deliciously endless!

Choose when time is of the essence
Grignolino is a grape varietal indigenous to Monferrato, and one of the oldest from the region. The wine produced with these grapes has a light ruby -red color. On the nose it shows delicate wild strawberry- and spice notes, and on the palate it reveals an important tannic structure, as pleasant as it is unexpected. Grignolino, that was at risk of disappearing from the Piedmontese viticulture, is now experiencing an important rediscovery by fans of native, autochthonous vines.
