Winemaker Description

Certified organic by Ecocert, Perrin Nature is not only an organic Côtes-du-Rhône but also a great wine. Using our experience in organic farming at Beaucastel (one of the first big estates to turn to organic farming 40 years ago), this wine is a beautiful expression of fruit with delicate and soft tannins.

Tasting Beautiful clear and shiny ruby-red color. This wine opens up with a very expressive nose with notes of black fruit and undergrowth highlighted by a beautiful freshness with notes of eucalyptus. Generous and balanced, the palate extends these beautiful aromas supported by an elegant tannic structure, before offering a long finish with delicate notes of aniseed.

Bart Hopkins of 67Wine.com writes | Blended with a small amount of Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, and Petite Sirah, the 2022 Oberon Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is darkly colored with aromas and flavors of lush blackberries, black cherries, mocha, dark chocolate and baking spices. Silky sweet tannins lead to a long and delicious finish.

To create this Cabernet Sauvignon, Oberon sourced grapes from throughout Napa's finest winegrowing regions, including Oakville, Oak Knoll, Yountville, Suscol Ridge, Chiles Valley, Pope Valley and Capell Valley.

By layering fruit from Napa's sparse volcanic soils and the deeper alluvial soils of the valley floor, Oberon accomplished their goal of marrying many different expressions into one outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon that boasts a beautifully seamless mouthfeel and rich, complex texture and flavors.

Aromas of pomegranate, green peppercorn and oregano decorate the nose. This beautifully lush and supple Pinot Noir draws you in with inviting aromas of raspberry, dark cherry, dried sage and sweet tobacco leaf. On the palate, soft, supple tannins frame alluring layers of wild strawberry and Bing cherry, with hints of cracked black pepper and spice emerging on a long, satisfying finish.

Winemaker Description

Brancott Sauvignon Blanc is predominantly a pale straw color with greens. This vibrant wine is a pale straw colour with green highlights. The zesty aromas jump from the glass, with highlights of pink grapefruit, melon and gooseberry.

On the palate, flavors of grapefruit, honeydew melon, and passionfruit contribute to the ripe fruit sweetness combined with a tight, fresh acidity. This is a beautifully balanced wine.

Bright and deep red color with purple tones. Aromas of black fruit reminiscent of fresh plum mixed with blueberries and a hint of flowers. On the palate the wine is balanced, medium-bodied with a good fresh acidity.

Joaquin Hidalgo writes:  The 2022 Malbec Felino is 55% from the Uco Valley and 45% from Lujan de Cuyo. Only 7% of the wine was aged for up to six months in barrels. The 2022 has a rich, purple hue. The nose features dark and red fruit, including blackberry, plum and floral and jammy notes. Winemaker Description

A fruit driven style of Pinot Noir with a lively personality, this wine expresses an abundance of red cherries on the nose, along with baking spices such as clove and cinnamon. On the palate, fruit flavors of cranberries and fresh raspberries are intermingled with freshly roasted coffee beans and soft cocoa-like tannins.

Pinot Noir is incredibly versatile and will go well with roast chicken, duck confit, smoked salmon, or simply with mature cheddar cheese.

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is almost always what people have in mind when this classic grape gets lauded or derided. For the LWLs of the world (Ladies Who Lunch), this is the beverage of choice. Those who love it, LOVE it and the haters hate it for the same reasons. Anthony ‘Ant’ Moore’s Sauvignon Blanc is like an olive branch to both sides. Originally an Aussie, he moved to Marlborough on the South Island in the early 2000s and was hooked. He uses a French approach (old oak barrels and extended lees aging) to balance that searing acidity typical of NZ Sauvignon Blanc and curb some of the typical ‘greenness’. The result is a veritable fruit basket of tropical proportions. Kiwi, pineapple, spearmint, and crunchy apple. Pair with any sunny moment or crunchy salad.

Château L'Escart is located with its 26ha of vineyards east of Bordeaux near Saint Loubès. The vineyards are planted with the traditional Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot (50%) Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) Malbec (7%) and Petit Verdot (3%).

The Etz estate consists of 30 hectares of vineyards in the Kamptal region of Austria, and are known for producing exceptional Grüner Veltliner. Franz Etz, the proprietor of the estate, gained international recognition when he bested 600 other Grüner Veltliners in a blind tasting competition by 14 of the world's top sommeliers. After, he created a special one-liter bottling of his fruit, called Grüner, for the U.S. market.

Vinous Media 94 Points:  The 2021 Al Passo is a very beautiful and expressive wine. Dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, licorice and incense lend notable aromatic nuance. This Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon blend has a ton to offer. Bright acids pull it all together in style. 

Wine Spectator 91 Points:  An intense red, evoking cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, mineral, tobacco and wild herb flavors. Silky and sappy, with fine-grained tannins lingering on the finish. Overall, this shows finesse. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2032.

James Suckling 91 Points:  Cassis, meat, leather and earth notes. Firm acidity and tannins with a chalky texture, a full body and supple fruit balancing the structure. Austere on the finish. Best after two to three years of aging.

Winemaker Notes

Spicy notes of oak rise above distinct aromas of cherry and berry. The palate has a backbone of Sangiovese, a roundness of Merlot and enhanced body from the Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit purity and varietal signatures are testament to the meticulous care given to the vines. Equal parts Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Kristen Bieler of the Wine Spectator writes 92 Points | This offers real aromatic beauty, with incense, violets and red currant flavors melded with a layer of finely crushed graphite. Chalk-fine tannins guide the medium-length finish, adding nice chewiness. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2032. 

Stuart Pigott of JamesSuckling.com writes 93 Points | This generous and well-structured 2021 Chateauneuf has excellent raspberry and strawberry aromas for the challenging vintage, plus notes of floral aromas. Surprisingly fine tannins, too. Still very youthful and in need of a bit of time in bottle to reach ideal harmony, but the freshness at the finish is already delightful. A cuvee 75% grenache, 10% syrah, 10% mourvedre and 5% cinsault that were co-fermented, then matured in foudre. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. 

Jeb Dunnuck writes 92 Points |  The 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape is a solid effort in the vintage. A normal blend of mostly Grenache with 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, with a splash of Cinsault, it has a beautiful perfume of ripe cherries, fresh strawberries, sappy green flowers, and peppery garrigue. This carries to a medium-bodied, layered, elegant Châteauneuf with fine tannins, a beautiful overall sense of balance, and outstanding length. It shows the fresh, pretty, nuanced style of the vintage and is a beautiful wine to enjoy over the coming decade. It's in the same ballpark as the 2008.  Drinking 2023 to 2033.

Nicolas Greinacher of Vinous writes 91 Points | Checking in at 14.83% alcohol, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a refined and predominately red-fruited beauty. Licorice and herbaceous components add more dimension. Framed by gentle tannins and more medium- than full-bodied, the 2021 ends with a bright finish.  Drinking 2025 to 2036.

Matt Walls of Decanter writes 93 Points | A smoky style that’s a touch herbal and meaty. Towards full-bodied, with good weight and texture. Quite a saline expression, ending on crisp raspberry acidity and quite strict tannins. Will always be a lean style, but should make interesting old bones.  Drinking 2025 to 2034.  -

Jeb Dunnuck writes 91 Points | The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape from Avril checks in as 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre. It has a perfumed nose of Bing cherries, candied violets, and ground pepper, as well as some sappy floral background nuances. Nicely textured on the palate, it's medium-bodied, has ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautiful, elegant wine that has lots to love. 

Joe Czerwiński of the Wine Advocate writes 91 Points | Marking back-to-back strong efforts from this producer, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape features attractive aromas of ripe cherries, redcurrants, garrigue and some dried spices as well. A blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, raised in a combination of foudres and tanks, it's medium to full-bodied, with soft tannins and a long, juicy finish.  Drinking 2022 to 2033.

Base of Grenache, then Syrah and Mourvèdre: the classic grape varieties of the appellation and a wine with beautiful tannins, which reveals itself with slight aeration. The mouth refines and stretches, the wine is calm and serene and just waiting for a meal. A great discovery in this appellation.

Neal Martin writes:  The 2023 Chablis Village was assembled for my visit by Didier Picq from 10 vats. It has an attractive if light bouquet with apple blossom and fresh pear aromas. Benanti Etna Rosso is pale ruby red in color. The bouquet is ethereal and intense, with spicy red fruit aromas. Well balanced and medium-bodied, with a mineral-rich complexity, pleasant acidity and a saline freshness on the long and lively finish.

A versatile wine that can be paired with red meats and cheeses but also with fish or white meats. Very suitable for by-the-glass consumption.

The nose of the 2023 La Crema Sauvignon Blanc shows notes of nectarine, Lime, Melon, and subtle hints of wet stone and flint. On the palate, grapefruit and white peach are accompanied by tropical notes of mango and guava. Barrel fermentation brings volume and texture to the wine while crisp and vibrant acidity drives a juicy lingering finish.

Jeb Dunnuck 90 Points | A brilliant silver/green-tinged hue, the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma County comes from multiple sites in Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Dry Creek, and the Russian River Valley and is fermented both in barrel as well as in stainless steel. Aromatic with a fresh, tropical perfume of guava, melon, chive, and grapefruit, it offers an elegant and delicately rounded feel, with a kiss of candied citrus and its floral perfume lasting on the finish.

With its brightness and lively citrus elements, the 2022 Jordan Chardonnay makes a wonderful aperitif and is also a versatile food pairing wine. Unlike many fuller-bodied chardonnays, Jordan Chardonnay creates a nice contrast of flavors with seafood such as salmon or oysters. It also has the structure and balance to pair beautifully with spicy Thai dishes and even heavier dishes like creamy chicken pasta or Dungeness crab.

James Suckling 93 Points | A restrained nose that is very citrus-driven, displaying notes of honeydew melon, preserved lemons, lime zest and lemon balm. The palate is tight and fresh with a medium-bodied texture, showing notes of grapefruit, orange blossoms, flint and lanolin. A balanced and fresh wine from a hot vintage. (2022).

Alain Chavy produces restrained, structured, and long-lived white Burgundies from 17 acres of vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, with small holdings in the neighboring villages of Chassagne and Meursault. Alain established Domaine Alain Chavy in 2003 with vineyards inherited from his father and includes some of Puligny's top premier crus. 

The Alain Chavy Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022 features a bouquet of green apple, citrus, and subtle floral notes, with hints of toasted almonds and minerality. On the palate, it is crisp and well-balanced, offering flavors of lemon, pear, and a touch of honey, complemented by a firm acidity and a taut, fresh character. The finish is clean and refreshing, with lingering citrus and mineral notes.

This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, roasted chicken, creamy pastas, and soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert.

Winemaker Description

This juicy red is 100% Gamay from a 9 hectare plot of 60 year-old vines planted on granitic soil. No sulphur is used in the cellar and after bottling the wine is left to rest for 2 months before release. Fresh and fruity with low tannins, this makes for great accompaniment to fish dishes. 

A bright crimson-purple in colour. Aromas of red cherries, cassis and strawberries mixed in with pleasantly earthy notes. Juicy and light on the palate with notes of summer red fruit flavours and silky tannins leading to a refreshing finish.

Try chilled with roasted cod, coq au vin or prawn dumplings with a sweet chilli sauce.

Grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted. Semi-carbonic maceration without SO2, for 4-6 days 2 months in “cuve”.

Almost all the grapes for this cuvée come from within the Morgon cru, but the wine is not entitled to the Morgon appellation because yields surpass the accepted limit of 56 hl/ha. This is intentional: the high yields prevent excessive concentration and yield an easy-drinking, fruit-driven red with low alcohol (12.5 percent).

Meridith May of The Tasting Panel writes 95 Points | Aromas of pineapple, guava, and gardenia. Lemon curd, pink grapefruit, and tangerine blossom form a delicate, creamy wave across the palate. Tropical flowers such as gardenia and plumeria play alongside honeyed pears, dotted with a salty, crisp seashell finish.

Antonio Galloni of Vinous writes 91 Points | The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc (Russian River Valley) is classy and polished to the core. Citrus peel, marzipan, white flowers and light tropical inflections all grace this aromatic, beautifully perfumed Sauvignon Blanc from Merry Edwards.

We began making our Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc in 2001, and we have lovingly reproduced this delicious wine each vintage since. Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden follows specific protocols, including fermentation in French oak barrels and twice-weekly lees stirring, to craft this aromatic, lush bottling.

The nose of the 2023 vintage features fragrant tropical aromas of white pineapple, passionfruit, mango and guava, with subtle hints of plumeria, lemon curd and lime zest. The palate is clean and bright, with accents of ruby red grapefruit, honeysuckle and ripe melon followed by a burst of crisp, refreshing acidity.

The special care they take to bring out the very best in this variety shows in their results. They use a specific mix of clones – two-thirds Shenandoah (Clone 1) and one-third Sauvignon Musqué – that results in a wine brimming with floral and tropical fruit aromatics with a citrusy, juicy core. Barrel fermentation and twice weekly lees stirring help us create the characteristic creamy texture and rich body that you’ve come to know and share with your friends and family.

Expert Review - Vintage 2020 

Decanter 94 Points | Silver Oak's 2020 releases of Napa and Alexander Valley Cabernets are downright impressive. Tasted four years after the fires, in September of 2024 at the Alexander Valley winery, neither wine showed any sign of the hardened tannic structure or overwrought fruit often associated with the vintage. Instead, these wines remain true to Silver Oak’s signature style, with blackcurrant, fig, and plum fruits layered with white pepper, sweet cedar, and coriander spice. Medium-bodied, with sculpted tannins that persist through the lengthy finish, the Alexander Valley Cabernet in particular retains all the hallmarks of a balanced, inviting, and vibrant Silver Oak red.

The 2020 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has captivating notes Our 2020 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of 95.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.1% Merlot, 1.4% Cabernet Franc, 0.7% Petit Verdot and 0.6% Malbec. After blending in early 2021, our 2020 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was transferred to American oak barrels from our cooperage, The Oak, where it aged for 24 months. Blending before barrel aging—a signature of our winemaking style—allows blends to be based on the inherent qualities of their vineyard components before oak influence.

On the palate, ripe blackberry cobbler, blueberry pie, pralines, sweet vanilla custard, brown sugar, caramel, mocha with hints of coffee. Ripe, dense and soft chewy tannins with toasty oak round the wine out with a lush, long, and lingering finish.

It has nice complexity , light-medium bodied, energetic, vibrant with a nice texture.  Fresh, pure, with flavors of stone fruits ,  orange zest and blanched almonds and a nice lingering finish.  Pair with seafood, pasta and vegetables or  simply with cheeses.
